SPURS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO WEMBLEY??

Tottenham fans can't help but dream that this season could be one of their best ever as they look nailed on to secure at least a top 4 position in the Premier League and are well positioned in the FA Cup with just an away trip to League One Stevanage standing in their way of a quarter final berth
Spurs once held the record of most FA Cup wins when they last lifted the trophy in 1991 to make it 8 triumphs but that record has since been surpased by both Man Utd & more painfully Arsenal, as Spurs have failed to even reach another final and this is a record Harry Redknapp is keen to put right this season and with the elimination of Man City & Man Utd already, there couldn't be a better opportunity
Whilst they aren't exactly nailed on to lift the trophy I think they're certainly going to advance past their next hurdle which comes in the form of League One representatives Stevenage and I'm backing Spurs to advance at the first time of asking by at least a 2 goal margin
Stevenage currently occupy a playoff position in league one, have lost just 3 from 13 home games all season and have lost only 1 of their last 19 fixtures home and away in all competitions. They've also managed to overcome Plymouth, Stourbridge, Reading & Notts County to reach this stage so are in fine form and will be full of confidence going into this glamour tie with high flying Spurs
Stevenage also have nothing to loose here as everyone expects a Tottenham win so they can enjoy the occassion and a few of their players will try to stand out to visiting scouts in an effort to get a transfer to a higher positioned club, so this is a game Spurs can't really achieve anything from apart from ensuring they win it and get their name into the hat for the next round
We all know about Tottenham this season, sitting comfortably in 3rd position as things stand with an outside chance of a title shot but an almost certain return of Champions League football for next season already secured and things look good for Spurs fans as they dream of a return to Wembley and who would dispute that ambition right now?
The gulf in class here is big.. very big.. 46 places in fact in their league positions and whilst Spurs will no doubt rest a few players they have sufficient quality to adequately cope. Stevenage's form whilst impressive has to be put into context and they haven't faced a team anywhere near as strong as Tottenham this season and the gulf in class should be much too big an obstacle for them to overcome. There's also the risk that some of their younger players could freeeze on the big stage
Also I don't expect wholesale changes to the Tottenham team as this fixture comes at a good time for Spurs with their fixture before this match being 8 days earlier and their next fixture 7 days away, so Harry doesn't have to worry about 3 fixtures in a week which could've forced him to juggle his squad more and potentially prioritse the league fixtures either side of this game assuming he can win here with a weakened side anyway
With the gap in fixtures it should ensure a near full strength Tottenham take the field here as Harry will want to deliver a trophy along with a top 4 finish to truly complete a top class season for the new kings of North London!
The price for a Spurs win here is unbackable though as it offers very little value and the half time / full time market isn't great either as Stevenage will make this a tough opening 45 for theitr visitors and could get to half time on level terms if things go their way & they ride their luck
I do expect Tottenham to start professionally though as they didn't do so in their previous round win over Watford and that game could've turned nasty for Tottenham if their hosts had a little more quality at vital stages. This should be a warning Spurs have learned from and will ensure they start fast here and get the job done, with a half time lead quite likely
However, even if Spurs aren't in front by half time I still expect them to win the game and once they get their opening goal the space will develop as Stevenage try to get back into the game. This will provide Spurs with the required opportunities to finish the game off and end the romance of this years FA Cup for their League One opponents
The value in the win by a 2 goal margin is pretty good here given the probability of it happening, so that's where my money is going for this fixture
Spurs to win by 2 clear goals is my pick here... Good Luck
