PERTH GLORY TO CONTINUE THEIR UNBEATEN RUN.
Final result: 2 - 1Profit: 0.00 - 7 = -7
For about last three seasons pick for this match would have been strong home win. But tide has turned for both Sydney FC and Perth Glory.
Sydney enters this game after being humiliated last Sunday in 2-5 home loss to Newcastle Jets. Sydney is two hour drive from Newcastle, making this basically a derby match. Also Sydney FC board announced last week that they will not renew contract with current manager Vitezslav Lavicka. Lavicka, who has failed to impress this season, will depart after end of A-League campaign. Currently they sit 7th in A-League, with 24 points, 1 point behind 6th placed(last play-off spot) Newcastle Jets, and 16 points behind leaders Central Coast Mariners, another New South Wales club.
Sydney will welcome back Brett Emerton(18app+3g) who sat out match against Jets with minor hamstring injury. Same time they will miss their captain/midfielder T.McFlynn(19app), who is suspended and in-form striker M.Bridge(14app+3g) who picked up an ankle injury against Jets and was substituted after 36 minutes.
Perth Glory will fly to Sydney brimmed with confidence, after 8 match unbeaten run, including 1-1 draw in Sydney, three weeks ago. This run includes 3 away wins, over Wellington Phoenix, Melbourne Heart and Adelaide United. Glory is currently 4th in A-League, trailing Brisbane Roar by 2 points and leaders by 9. They are boasting 9-3-7 record, going 4-1-0 in last 5. Perth hasn't lost a single game in 2012. It seems like manager Ian Ferguson, Rangers hall of fame player, has found the right chemistry.
Glory made some important signings during the offseason - midfielders Travis Todd(13app+3g), Andrezinho(15app+2g), Liam Miller(19app+2g), goalkeeper Danny Vukovic(20app) and most noteworthy New Zealand international Shane Smeltz. Smeltz is Glory's leading goalscorer with 9 goals so far, more importantly he is only the second player in leagues history having scored more than 50 goals in A-League, he is second only to Melbourne Victory player and Australian international Archie Thompson. Smeltz played for New Zealand in 2010 World Cup and scored against Italy in a 1-1 draw.
So on one hand we see Sydney, who's 1-2-2 in last five matches, only win coming against league-worst Gold Coast, in narrow 2-1 home game, winning goal on 89th minute. One heartbreaking loss against Brisbane Roar, who after being 1-0 down for half of the game, scored in 95th and 96th minute, to stun Sydney. Two draws 1-1 against Glory, and 2-2 in Melbourne against Victory, and of course last weekend's 5-2 pounding from Newcastle.
I can't see Perth losing this one, not in the form they're having. Sydney will most likely just try to finish season(7 matches to go) on a positive note, and start fresh next season. Having played 1-1 draw 3 weeks ago, I expect similiar match, either 2-1 to Glory or 1-1 draw.

Thank you. I'm currently residing in Australia, so I'll try to keep eye on A-League, which has it's own vibe and logics. Also I made money on six last Perth Glory matches, both pre game in in-play, so I'm trying to keep my own little run going.

Nice Analysis, you appear to have in depth knowledge of the league! Laim Miller is great addition to Perth Glory-he was touted at one stage as being the next big thing!
