Match from England Premier League. Match between Tottenham number 3 with 50 pts in the table and Newcastle number 5 with 42 pts.

First of all, Tottenham home form is excellent. They are second-best host, with only the leader Manchester City having better score. The team is boosted by the returning of Aaron Lennon, Rafael Van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe and it seems Tottenham is able to continue with victories.Small problem for the manager Harry Redknapp is the injuries of William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone, but I am sure he has adequate replacements. Ledley King is doubtful.

Newcastle on other side play an amazing season. They are just one point behind fourth placed Chelsea. The fans are very satisfied with the results and they are dreaming about the Champions league. But Newcastle have some important missing players for this visit. Yohan Cabaye is suspended, Cheik Tiote is on the African Cup of the Nations Cup with Ivory Coast, while Steven Taylor, Sylvain Marveaux, Ryan Taylor and Leon Best are all injured.

I already wrote Newcastle is very good this season. But let's look how they played against the top teams on road. Newcastle lost 3:1 from Manchester City (19.11.2011) and 3:1 from Liverpool (30.12.2011), but played a 1:1 draw at Old Trafford on 26.11.2011. Still, I dare to write that draw was undeserved, Newcastle equalized from the penalty that didn't exist.

At the end I will mention that Tottenham won the last two games against Newcastle at White Hart Lane. Last season they won 2:0 (28.12.2010) with goals scored by Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale, while in the season 2008/09 won 1:0 (19.04.2009) with the only goal scored by Darren Bent. I expect Spurs to win again.


This is a small derby in Premier league, third Tottenham will host at White Hart Lane the fifth Newcastle. And I believe Tottenham will win here.
