Tsvetana Pironkova (WTA 44) will play against Carla Suarez Navarro (WTA 69) today at Indian Wells in the First Round. The bulgarian is 7-4 this year in major events and 6-3 on hard. At the last tournament she played in, Doha, she managed two straight sets victories against Polona Hercog and Angelique Kerber before being defeated by Marion Bartoli. In the same tournament Carla Suarez Navarro picked up a right hip injury in the first match against Ana Ivanovic and had to retire in the second set. She's in a bad form since Beijing losing 8 of her last 10 matches and 4 out of 5 played this year on hard.
