Most Improved is the "talking horse" of the past few weeks and has been the subject of sustained and significant support for the 2,000 guineas next month. He must win this and win it well if that support is to be justified.

He is currently 2nd favourite for the firt colts classic based on his impressive 3rd in the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes over 7f here at HQ in October. The vibes out of Brian Meehan's yard have been positive and the trainer knows how to get one ready to win on his reappearance.

Richard Hannon runs a useful pair here. The most likely challenger is the choice of Ryan Moore is Trumpet Major, who was behind Most Improved in the Dewhurst, but there is an excuse that he may have been over the top by then. Forgotten Hero and Mighty Ambition were both impressive but would need to step up significantly on what they have achieved thus far to figure here.

Born To Surprise, streaked ahead on his reappearance and won a mainden by 5 lengths. He has the build of a good horse and now upped in trip could run a big race. He also holds a 2000 guineas entry.

Amazed it is a n/r...trainer was very upbeat about his prospects yesterday afternoon. Perhaps there has been more rain overnight and the ground may be too soft.
