Liverpool host Chelsea on Tuesday in a fixture neither team would've liked to be playing as it comes just 3 days after their FA Cup final, which Chelsea won 2-1. Both teams also lack motivation for this fixture as Liverpool's season is basically over and Chelsea will now be 100% focused on the Champions League Final as opposed to this trip to Anfield
Following that defeat at Wembley it's fair to say Liverpool fans would like to see the back of this season as even their League Cup victory doesn't cover up the fact that they've been poor – especially at Anfield. Languishing 8th in the Premier League below Everton and with just 5 home wins from 18 attempts all season pretty much sums up their mediocre form and whilst manager Daglish will talk up their final two fixtures for me their season is already over and this will be reflected with another lacklustre performance in this game
As for Chelsea well under Di Matteo they've really turned their season around but this fixture simply isn't a priority at all now as they have a Champions League final which will occupy their thoughts completely as 4th place finish in the league is beyond them and their only route back into the Champions League for next season will be to win it - so I don't believe they will play their first choice team in this fixture and I believe it will be a very low key affair and played at a pedestrian pace
Liverpool at home this year have played 18 times and those games have witnessed just 35 goals with only 6 of the 18 matches finishing above 2.5 goals. Chelsea away from home have played 18 times and only 41 goals with just 7 finishing above 2.5 goals. Head to head at Anfield also points to under the line as 7 of the last 8 played here have finished with 2 or less goals so I'm confident this game will pass without any serious goal action
Energy levels will also be low for both sides following a tough battle on a big pitch on Saturday and with very little motivation for either team in evidence I'm backing the game to finish with less than 3 goals
Under 2.5 goals is my pick here... Good Luck

5 Great Moments In European Cup Final History

CM840 a draw is a distinct possibilityokay be even a 0-0..I feel it'll be played like a practice match as neither team have anything to play for & there'll be alot of changes from Saturday.. Certainly can't see too many goals.. Good luck
