HOLLAND OR GERMANY TO WIN EURO 2012
Final result: 0 - 1Profit: 0.00 - 3 = -3
Euro 2012 is fast approaching and we'll hopefully be treated to a month of drama, goals and memorable fixtures as the top 16 teams in Europe do battle and there's a host of teams that will believe they can claim the ultimate prize come the 1st July and I'll give you my thoughts here now
When you look at this tournament with a view to picking the winning nation you can't just take into account the strength of their squad but you must also analyse their likely finishing position in the group stages and their potential opponents from the quarter final stage onwards, as this all has a big bearing on the eventual outcome
The usual suspects will go into the tournament with ambitions of lifting the trophy and whilst this tournament isn't alien to throwing up surprises – Denmark in 1992 & Greece in 2004 spring immediately to mind, I don't think this will happen again and I'm confident the winner can only come from one of 4 teams: Spain, Germany, Holland or France and I'm backing the Germans & Dutch
It may surprise a few that I'm going to omit Spain from my tip as they're current World & European Champions with a entire squad of world class players. I also feel they'll comfortably qualify from their group and are likely to beat whoever they meet in the quarter finals as none of the teams in Group D will scare them. However, I just feel they'll come up short this time as I believe a lot of their players have reached all the heights they ever targeted with both club and country and whilst they're capable of beating anyone I just feel some of their rivals will have greater motivation and this could prove the decisive element come the semi final and final stages
I've also left out France who are a vastly improved team following their disgraceful performance in the last World Cup and with the talented squad they have they could pose most teams problems, especially if they get some momentum but they have a tough patch ahead of them with England & Ukraine tricky group stage opponents and a potential quarter final against Italy or Spain if they qualify. They'll then run into the likes of Holland or Germany if they progress to the semis so I think the draw could've been kinder to them and for this reason I'm leaving them out as I can't see them winning against so many quality teams
I seriously don't think any other team is capable of winning this. Many will tip England but for me they simply fail to perform on the biggest stage and the usual excuses of burn out, off field problems and suspensions are already being stockpiled and ready to be rolled out. Their media also put so much pressure on them that the players play with fear of loosing as opposed to playing with the ambition of winning. I also don't believe they have as many world class players as they seem to think they have and whilst the Premiership remains a strong league this is mainly down to the influx of foreign players more so than a depth of genuine English talent, so I couldn't include them
Italy, Croatia & maybe even Portugal will also believe they have a chance but whilst they could shock 1 or 2 of the favourites I don't believe they can win 3 or 4 big games on the bounce to actually lift the trophy. Portugal in particular have been very unfortunate with their group draw landing them in with both Holland & Germany and despite having Ronaldo in their team I don't think he can win these games alone and they won't have enough talented players to get out of their group. If they had a kinder draw they could've progressed and been a real threat come the knockout stages but I don't feel they'll get this opportunity. Croatia could surprise a few and either them or Italy should progress to the knockout stages but I don't see either being able to win the next 3 knockout games required to lift the trophy
Many may feel going for Holland & Germany is risky as they're in the so called 'Group of Death' but I feel both are superior to Portugal and Denmark and I think their toughest game will be against each other but regardless of that outcome I feel they'll finish 1st & 2nd . The path to the final from there is then decent as neither team will fear their quarter final opponents who will come from Group A and once in the semi finals well you expect a tough opponent but both of these sides are capable of beating anyone. The winner of the group would also have a route to the final that didn't involve meeting Spain which should ensure at least one of them contest the final at the very least
I also went for these 2 as providing they qualify out of their group then they can't meet until the final and this is also a bet I'm doing. The dream final would be if they both made it and I think this is a decent shout but if either one wins then we make a profit in anycase. Basically my thoughts are that whoever wins Group B will get to the final and whichever team finishes 2nd in the group will most likely meet Spain in the semi finals and I believe both Holland & Germany are capable of winning that game to set up my dream final
Germany or Holland to win Euro 2012 is my bet here... Good Luck

That would be a great game indeed.. I believe France will beat England and probably top their group so a mouthwatering quarter final awaits after that
I think France have that kind of game that will demolish any team. Do not look at tonight result! France - Spain - hardly wait to see that!
The Game... Forgive my ignorance but what's the IPL format? Sportingbet77.. Thanks for ur kind words on the tip itself & France could well upset the favourites if they click so good luck with that bet of ur own
@TheGame, Don't think there is any favouritism on this site. All the admins have worked hard 24/7 trying to keep this site fair and clean. Different areas have different focus and surely we are all driving towards improvement so we do expect good tips from our regulars and hope the potential regular to write a bit more. Both David and I did evaluate tips that are uploaded. What is even more important is that all tipsters on this site follow the the rules so that everyone enjoy the fairness.
Fair play, the TOTD competition kind of reminds me of the IPL... @ Joe also fair play that you encourage the community to give support to all the admins that work on Betting Expert. I haven't come across any bad people on this site and I am sure we are all willing to support the admins. However we encourage the Admins to promote fair competition not just the people they like, again I don't understand the thought process of the admins, i had this vision of Holland and posted the pick over 2 months ago yet still this pick takes TOTD which just gives me the impression that the competition is being run in the IPL format.. We are all more than happy to support the admins as much as they support us still i feel with the amount of work we ALL provide i think we should be well within our rights to questions decisions like this as they are encouraging the majority of tipsters with the exception of a handful to write below par picks.. Something to consider..
But, again, after many other tips presented here, I honestly like this tip and I will "cover" my initial bet France to win this trophy! It is a very solid tip this one, well written and with excellent arguments. A good analyze!
Nothing against Joe and David, argued with both of them about this! The site is favoring 3-4 tipsters and this is it! I already used with this and simply do not care anymore! Both, honestly, it is a joke of competition with no motivation for any tipster!
K! Nice tip, but again, the Tip of the Day Competition is the Ugliest Thing on this site!
@TheGame, Both David and I encourage the community to give support to all the admins that work on BettingExpert. Understandable that some of our admins have expertise in different areas of sports and therefore have different views. David has never left us and I would also encourage tipsters on this site to be patience with the work that is being done towards improving this site.
Hi LuckyGirl nothing against you, i posted this tip a month before yours, 826 views with 3 supports and you get tip of the day for it,, This place is turning into a joke we need David back.. GL

Who Will Win The French Open 2013?

Brutal finishing & shambolic defending by Dutch in their opening game.. Could be going home very early unless they get a massive performance against the Germans midweek.. Not looking good & thought their attitude tonight was poor as well
