WIGAN TO WIN @ 2.91

The equation is simple for both these sides as we go into the last couple of games.

For Blackburn, the equation is Premiership Survival = win both games by decent margins or it's life in the Championship next season. Their prospects of playing this fixture next season are remote in the extreme, but they play one of two sides they can trade relegation places with. Unfortunately for them, Wigan still need one win from their two remainig games to be certain of avoiding relegation AND they're one of the best teams in the entire division on current form.

At this stage of the season, past results and form count for precious little so there's not much weight attached to the fact that Blackburn have only managed one win in seven games whilst Wigan have won five and drawn one of their last seven. If the results had been reversed, Blackburn would already be safe and Wigan already relegated...that's the importance of Wigan's recent run.

It's past do or die for Blackburn and whilst there be no shortage of passion, there will be tension and nerves too...and I think Wigan will be the side to play more freely and get an early goal. That will either galvanise Blackburn into relentless attacks or see their heads dip.

The value bet has to be for Wigan's run to continue and the Latics to win.
