LA GALAXY TO WIN AT ODDS 2.38

Final result: 1 - 1
Profit: 0.00 - 5 = -5

We’ve got the new boys in the MLS in Montreal taking on last season’s champions the LA Galaxy in front of a crowd expected to be around 65,000 people.

For Montreal this will be a memorable occasion regardless of the result I think, but LA just can’t afford to him here and get caught in the occasion. Luckily for Bruce Arena and his side, this is the sort of thing he thrives on. Beckham will thrive on this, Keane will thrive on this, and all the Galaxy players WILL thrive on this atmosphere this evening I promise.

If they go down then we’ll finally lay off the Galaxy for a long while like I said I was going to, but I promise you that you are going to see a response from the Galaxy tonight.

I think Beckham will show up big time tonight, I think tonight could be the night Robbie Keane finds the back of the net and I think LA will go here, attack early and stun this capacity crowd early doors.

I know those are some pretty big statements to be making on a LA side that have been nothing short of a joke at times – by their standards – and people keep getting the impression that Montreal are some poor, expansion side that will get rolled over every week?

No, they’re actually a very big threat to sides with the way they attack and I’d put them comfortably above a lot of teams at the moment such as Toronto, Chivas, Portland and a few others.

They’re no mugs and they can take goals and a result from this sort of game, but I think the Galaxys experience will help them turn a corner eventually and I think it can be tonight in front of 65,000 people.

I’m just casting my mind back to the Champions League game earlier in the season. LA started bad, and they’re still bad at the moment. I remember we took Toronto DNB, and they took a 2-0 lead but from the second that second goal went in LA were a team possessed.

They passed Toronto off the park that night and came back to draw 2-2, and I just remember Beckham getting torrid abuse, banners and things being thrown at him on every corner, Keane being booed etc, etc.

And we saw the real Galaxy that night; the passion in their celebrations right in front of the Toronto fans said it all – they love nothing more than to stick it up crowds that are against them, especially ones this big.

There’s nothing more than most MLS fans would love to see than LA get beat by an expansion side and continue their awful form, but I don’t see it.

It’s got to the stage where it just isn’t early season anymore; we’re 11 games in for some teams – that is 1/3 of the season! The Galaxy need to start turning a corner and fast, and I think they will just raise to this occasion and shut everyone up.

Nice tip! 1
