9 POINTS ITALY QUALIFY GROUP C (EURO 2012) @1.67 STAN JAMES

IN Group C for Euro 2012 we have Spain who are the favourites to lift the title along with Italy, Croatia and Republic of Ireland.
Although I think that Spain will easily qualify from the group I dont think they will win the tournament as I dont think they are playign as well as they used to. The odds for them to qualify from group C are very low at 1.1 (ish) so no value there. Spain easd through their qualification for thsi tournament with 8 out of 8 victories and they scored 26 goals in thise 8 matches.
the 2nd favourites Italy had an equally comfortable qualification route winning 8 out of their 10 matches and drawing the other 2 and their main stand out stat was that they conceded just 2 goals in thise 10 matches which is a fantastic defensive perforance. Okay the teams they were playign arent going to be as good as they will be in thsi group but if you can stifle out your opponents you have every chance of winning the matches.
Croatia are the main threat for Italy and Spain and Croatia finished 2nd in their qualification Group behind Greece and i think that they may find it a bit hard against better teams than they faced in the qualification group.
The Republic of Ireland willhave chances but I think they will lose fairly easily to Spain and Italy which will mean they struggle to qualify through the group.
Italy should be the 2nd team behind Spain to qualify from this group.

Yea - Italy start and acceleration are not so great ,but everybody knows this ,so they can't surprise .And with teams like Spain ,Holland and Germany I don't expect Italy to have all the time "luck" !
Don't forgetthat this is the strategy of Italy. And they were winning international tournaments just with such a strategy - everybody believes, they are not playing... But - just in the moment when it is necessairy, they show their "wright face". Don't forget. At least after the opener in this group C - maybe - you could to start thinking in this way. It wouldn't be to late, because even then (when Spain loses against Italy) the odds for "Spain not to win" will be climbing high, as well.
Both of you are wright - in my opinion. But - what if Spain is not going to qualify out of this group? Ever thought about this possibility? I agree that Spain is not playing as well, as they used to. And I agree that Ireland and Croatia are strong oponents. But - not only oponents for Italy, but for Spain, too. So, all together, I agree as well, that Italy has good chances to come throuhg into the quarter final, but as well I agree that the odds of 1,67 are really slim... So - I would play NOW Croatia or Ireland to come into the quarter final and play every other match of Italy - Italy to win. Because these odds are already higher at this moment then 1,67. And - I thing, they will be climbing up in the next ten days...
Very poor results (and play) from Italy in his recent friendly games (3 straith loses from : Uruguay by 1-0 Nov.2011 ; USA by 1-0 ,Dec 2011 and by Russia 3-0 Jun 2012) make odds of 1.67 for his qualification little bit slim .They just need to improve and I think that Croatia and Rep.of Ireland are very tough opponents .
