ADAM JOHNSON TO MAKE ENGLAND SQUAD

The england squad for the euro 2012 championships is announced on wednesday and there a few hopefulls looking to be selected. Roy Hodgson the new England manager hasnt had long to select his team.

I will now asses the squad starting with goalkeepers.

For the first time in years England now have a world-class keeper in Joe Hart but who is selected with him. Green, Foster, Stockdale and Ruddy have all been mentioned. 3 have to be selected.

Defensively the manager must choose whether he takes 2 right backs, 2 left backs etc or whether he brings players who can play right right across the line and use the spaces up for more forward players. Left back wise i don't believe there is any debate Ashley Cole and Baines are two of the best about. On the right side there is 3 top players with Walker, Johnson and Richards talked about. walker has had a great season but i think Johnson may be selected too. In the centre it is unknown whether Hodgson will take Terry and Ferdinand or either due to earlier controvicy. Cahill, lescott, Jagielka, Smalling and Jones are all in the mix.

In the midfield there is a debate over who goes with Lampard, Parker, Barry and Gerrard all likely. Players like Carrick Milner and even Paul Scholes have all been rumoured.
Out wide there is a selection to be made surely you cant take Walcott and Lennon or Downing and Johnson. Ashley Young will most probably be selected and maybe the outside shot of Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlin who has burst onto the scene but i think it may be slightly early for him.

The forward line will have for sure Wayne Rooney, but the other places are up for grabs Welbeck looks likely but Bent has been out all season and Defoe lacking game time. Carroll may provide the alternative or maybe Zamora. Outside shouts are Sturridge or Grant Holt.

For me my bets based on value will be Carroll, Richards, Stockdale, Walcott and Adam Johnson.
