Angelique Kerber - Petra Kvitova

KVITOVA TO WIN @ 5/7

Angelique Kerber ranked 12th takes on Petra Kvitova the 4th seed (and 4th rank) and it could developed in a close 3-set match. After her first round 3-set game, Kerber has enjoyed the easier passage of the two players to the quarter-final stage. In her last match, Kvitova was pushed to a third set which she won comfortably enough 6-2. I don't see that as a negative - in fact quite the opposite, being pressed and made to fight is no bad thing heading into the latter stages of a competition when the games are going to get closer.

Kerber is one of the form players of the women's game this year - winning her first two titles so she'll be confident now she's becoming used to being at the sharp end of tournaments on a regular basis.
The players have only met once. It was on this surface in Stuttgart when Kvitova prevailed 6-4 6-4. I expect Kvitova to be pressed a littel harder this time, but I do think she will ultimately prevail.
