Zadar - Cibona

ZADAR TO WIN AH (+8.50) AT ODDS 1.98

Game 2 Croatian play-offs semi-finals (Best-of-three). Cibona leads 1-0 after winning game 1 with 86-57.

To be honest and realistic. Even the greatest optimists among the Zadar fans (including me) don't believe in a win of Zadar after having seen what happened in game 1. Zadar without any idea, without fighting spirit and already in a losing position after the first halftime which ended with huge 39-17 in favour of Cibona. Not that Zadar improved in the second half which ended 47-40 in favour of Cibona, it was more Cibona's eat my shorts attitude which allowed Zadar to stay within reasonable -29 points. I must admit that was one of the hardest defeats which I've seen of Zadar against Cibona. Back to game two. The same "quitters" will enter the hot home floor in front of 8000 hot and loud fans. The only positive factors in favour of Zadar will be;

1) the home factor thank to their proud fans as always,
2) the "Dalmatian" attitude in short; the south will rise again, or just defiance and
3) most important, Cibona's injuries .....

Cibona is big favorite to get into the play-offs final with a two-step win over Zadar. The only real threat are as just mentioned, the home field factor and the fact that Cibona will miss Antoine Barbour and Andrija Zizic in this game because of slight injuries. Cibona as said, dominated game 1 from start to the end, even allowing huge 40 points in the second half of the game compared to just 17 within the 1st part of the game. They were also out-rebounded with 37-26 (21-9 2nd half!). In fact, Cibona can only beat itself here ...

So, no question about the winner here, normally ... The form, the way Cibona plays right now, the fact that they're still without a loss (15-0) within the Croatian league, the fact that they've the best coach (Jasmin Repesa) on the bench, the way they already won at the same place within the regular season (84-74), and the way they played in game 1 point to another clear win of Cibona in middle of the Croatian basketball fortress called - Zadar. Wouldn't there not be the fans, defiance and the two injuries on side of Cibona. Those facts simply doesn't allow Zadar to lose once again without going down with a fight at least. That said, even if Zadar losses this one, they simply "must" stay within those 8.5 points if they still want to prepare the new season in the same arena. Everything else will end in a major riot tomorrow night, like it did today in Greece in the Olympiacos vs Panathinaikos game. That's the "South" as simple as that!
