This game with non-qualifers Latvia presents one of the few remaining chances for Poland's squad players to impress the Management team and ensure their inclusion in the final 22 and starting line-up. In other words, there is much at stake for the Polish players who will be taking the game seriously, whereas Latvia will not be at full strength or overly motivated to win. That said, these two teams are rivals and Latvia will not be rolling over.

Poland have a reasonably settled team and some star players amongst their ranks, including lead Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski who has scored 30 goals this season. Another man from the German champions is Lukasz Piszczek at right back and the Arsenal keeper Szezceny.

Poland have put up some decent performances recently - often without winning - including 0-0 against Portugal; and drawing 2-2 with a full strength Germany in a highly competitive encounter.

In contrast, Latvia have been pretty poor in recent games: 0-0 at home to Kazakhstan in their last game sets the tone, and a 1-1 draw with Greece at home being the highlight.

I expect there to be lots of player rotation and subsitutions in the game, but still think Poland will have too much for an average Latvia side. In front of their home crowd, ahead of the first game in the Euro championships on 8th June, they will want to perform well and start a winning sequence.
