In all competitions Honka has beaten KuPS 12 times in a row! Ten of these were league games and six were played in Kuopio (one of them was a cup game). It get's even better. Honka has not lost to KuPS in 15 games. The 13th game there in the middle was a draw. Anyhow, I try not to put unreasonable amount of weight on pure H2H statistics, but there must be something there, right?

Honka started off the season rather poorly, being winless in their first five games. Then they managed two wins, but last round were beaten away by the no. 1 team in Finland, HJK.

KuPS didn't start any better. They were winless in their first eight games, but snatched the streak with a home win over Haka last round. KuPS finally got their first win, what they had been needing badly. Now they come to Espoo to try to beat their huge monster Honka, which they have never been able to do in the top league. It's been almost eight years that KuPS beat Honka, and that was in the 1st division.

History is history though. Honka has been weakened this year. Team faced financial problems and are rebuilding their team with a younger core. KuPS is not without chances here. This year they have gotten stronger, but their poor form suggests that the team hasn't yet found their game. I'm not saying Honka's form is a lot better, it's not. I'm pretty much relying on KuPS' Honka demons with this pick and that is why I keep the stakes low, odds are good enough to keep alive Honka's dominance over KuPS.
