In the last three NRL matches between these sides, the home team has won by precisely 4 points - that includes two home wins for the Roosters again by exactley a 4-point margin. This game is expected to be just as close so you could do a lot worse than side with the Roosters to win by 4 points (which is available at 7/1 for Roosters to win by 1-5 points). Both sides have each won around half the 158 previous meetings and the record at the Allianz stadium is 10-9 in favour of the Roosters. In short, there's not much between these two sides.
But I see a temporary break in that trend this weekend. The Roosters are on a bad run presently, winning just one from their last five games. That one win came at home against Newcastle and they haven't been crushed too often away, but eventualy losing becomes an habit. In the home fixture before Newcastle, they were annhilated 12-50 by North Queensland.
I like the look of the Bulldogs. They have looked consistently strong for weeks now, and have rarely played a bad game. I think they will have too much power going forward and be too resistant in defence.
Bulldogs to win by 8.
