A nice easy game today from the the first round of the tournament, almagro clearly favorite over the john doe Baker. oh...wait a second ...it's the final!!! Who is this Brian Baker and how did he get here? Well let's see..he's 27 years old..so not really a fresh talent, he did not play any game between 2005 and 2011, and on 2011 played only 21 games obviously that is why he is ranked 216th. He may had some problems...maybe some ugly injury i did not have the time to do this research , but it is not that important because this year Baker seems to be perfectly fit and he also he proofs to be a master of the clay court.
He won the Savannah challenger losing only one set in the entire tournament . He continued the good form at the Nice tournament defeating players like Monfils , Kukuskin or Davydenko. Almagro is a great clay court player but i think that Baker wil continue his good form and will cover the 4.5 games spread.

i found some time to do a research on Baker and i was right...we was one of the most talented juniors , defeating players like djokovic, berdych or tsonga. He encountered than several health problems, suffering no less than 5 surgeries, that kept him out until last year. He started to fill better and began to enter small regional tournaments, until he won the tournament in Savannah , which brought him a wild card for the roland garros!! This bet seems to be a looser because almagro leads 6-3, 4-1 but it doesn't matter , we will see this guy again next week and i assure you he will do some upsets! From now on i am Baker's official fan, this guy deserves all the respect...in my opinion if his body won't trouble him anymore he will be in the first 50 players in no time!
