Carroll has been handed the number 9 shirt. which means he is likely to start up front against France, Sweden, and maybe even Ukraine when Rooney is finally available for selection.

Roy Hodgeson will plan the attack around the big man at front, and Carroll is likely to get the optimum number of chances. Goals can always come from Lampard and Gerrard, and also defenders and wide players will have the odd poke at the onion bag.
