Match from the first round of Roland Garros Mixed Doubles.
Pairs are showing to be quite dedicated to the mixed doubles tournament so far. Many good pairs have been formed, some fell because players didn't understand each other but almost all favourites have won and by clear results.
Their opponents were also good pairs but when you join a top doubles player from the men ranking with one from the women ranking... It's ATP merging with WTA, and the games are very entertaining.
As the tournament is quite small, because only good pairs were allowed to participate and because they wanted a short number of pairs, the 1st Round is still in play. The brackets have to last for the whole two weeks so the tournament is progressing slowly.
In this matchup we have the french Julie coin and Nicolas Mahut against Anna Groenefeld from Germany and the polish Marcin Matkowski.
I don't really know the arguments Nicolas Mahut must have to pick Julie Coin as his partner, but the french lady as his pair but I don't see them to have much future. She knows how to play doubles but is far from any other participant's level, playing mainly on the Challenger circuit and never showing an outstanding performance.
Mahut is good at doubles though, but I don't think he can carry it.
On the other side we will hava Anna Groenefeld, who is currently playing only doubles without much success, but on a level way higher than Coin.
The man is also a better player, because Matkowski has been at the top of the rankings with his usual partner, Fyrstenberg. He has a very good doubles play obviously, and it will depend on how he fits with Anna Groenefeld.
All in all, despite not knowing how pairs feel with their partners, I believe Groenefeld and Matkowski hold every argument to make this a fast sweep into a 2-0, taking advantage of Julie Coin serves.

I manually entered the names for this doubles game. The kickoff time is wrong. Organization predicts it to start at 16:10. It may be later if games before this are longer than expected. It will be played tomorrow since it is one of the only first round games left and the organization wants to finish them all. Please change starting time to 16:10 when you see the message. Keep in mind that Mixed Doubles are the most delayed games in the tournament, since they have the least priority of them all.
