7 POINTS RUSSIA BEAT CZECH REP (EURO 2012 GROUP A) @2.15 VICTOR CHANDLER (BETVICTOR)

Russia take on Czech Republic on the first day of Euro 2012 and will want to get off to a good start in qualification from Group A. They are the favourites to win the group and with the players thy have you can see why they are favourites - They still have most of the same team that came 3rd in Euro 2008 and although that has caused some controversy because the fans wanted more young players to be coming through for the future the coah Dick Advocaat has a very experienced team to pick from and with the likes of Arshavin and Pavlyuchenko he will expect a win against a Czech team who had the worst qualification record of all the qualifiers.

In Qualification Russia's defence was outstanding and they only conceded 4 goals in their 10 games and I can see them keeping a clean sheet in this match against a much lower ranked Czech team.

The Czech team won just 4 of their 8 qualification games in a poor group (apart from Spain who beat everyonw in sight) and they just dont have the team to be able to compete at this level. I think they will struggle to score against the excellent Russian defence and will be dominated for large parts of the match

In summary I think that Russia's excellent defence will hold firm and they should win this match - I dont see it being a high scoring game but a good victory for Russia which will put them in the driving seat for qualification from Group A
