Germany, my friends, are the team to beat during these Euros don't be mistaken. The young generation of fine German players cut their teeth in the last world cup and will be ready to take this competition by storm. The qualification campaign was superb and just to list the players strikes fear into any opponent, Kroos, Ozil, Khedira, Gomes. Muller, Lahm, etc etc. They are all young players reaching their peak with an inspiration manager who players attacking football.
OK Portugal are a big football nation but on paper only now. The golden generation has gone. In it's place is only 1 world class player, Ronaldo. He is not enough to carry this team. The left back Cointreau is good, Carvalho experienced, Bosingwa, Merieles-who else stands out?
Odds are good for the outright @ 1.96 although I will hedge bets and back draw no bet at a decent 1.96-best odds for a Germany win in the group stages anyway. No chance of defeat here, Portugal scraped through the play offs and their warm up games have been poor-losing to Turkey for goodness sake!
