I am looking at this match up where Seattle Mariners are playing San Diego Padres in the second series between the two. Last night San Diego recorded a 9-5 win over Seattle.

San Diego has a very poor record which leaves them at the bottom of NL West with a huge 17.0 games from the top.

They will be hoping to get some games back against Seattle tonight after being swept by the Rangers.

The Mariners also have had a very poor year leaving them bottom of the AL West 14.5 games back of first place.

They lost their last series against Arizona 2-1 and look likely to lose this series too after suffering another defeat last night.

For the Mariners we will see Felix Hernandez take the mound with a 4-5 record and a 3.52 ERA.

He is up against Jason Marquis who has made just three starts this year. His win loss record of 1-2 looks poor but his ERA is a fantastic 1.86 over 19 innings and he has struck out 20. This could end up an unexpected pitching duel between two of the poorer teams in baseball.

A lot of bookmakers are tipping this to go under 6.5 runs and I personally think this is too low.
