RUSSIA TO WIN AH (-26.5) AT ODDS 2.08
Final result: 91 - 56Profit: 10.40 - 5 = 5.4
Olympic Basketball qualifying tournament in Caracas, Venezuela.
The 12 competing teams are divided into 4 groups for the preliminary round (round robin format). The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The last-placed team in each group will be eliminated. A single-elimination tournament will then be held. The semifinal winners will qualify for the Olympics. The semifinal losers will play for the last Olympic qualifying berth.
The opening game is from group C where among Russia and Korea we will also see the Dominican Republic in action. The Russian team with the likes Kirilenko, Mozgov, Monya, Fridzon or Kaun are clear favorite to win this group. The first step will be almost a sparring match against an South Korean team. A quick look at the rooster of that Korean team already reveals that they are all coming from South Korean clubs which are all together on amateur level. The tallest player is Center Kim Jong-Kyu with 207 the rest of the 13-men team is around 190. So, no question about who will dominate the paint and win the game at the end. The only question here is - can the Russians cover the spread?
If they behave like Russians than the answer would be no. However, because it's the first match, they may still be motivated enough to show their best face, and honestly, even a just solid performance should be more than enough to beat this sympathic Korean team with more than 30 points.
Medium stakes 5/10 on Russia to win AH (-26.50).
Good luck!
