The opening game in Romanian league sets the historic and much fancied Steaua Bucherest side v average Concordia. There is a difference in quality between the matched teams and the home victory I don't think is in doubt.

At odds of approx 1.33 for the home win, there is no clear value in backing this however the asian handicap -1.75 offers marvelous odds of 2.20 with Bet365 and worth taking on with a medium sized hit.

I am not entirely sure whether the hosts will win by two clear goals which is why my stake is not higher. I can see the last fixture was a 2-0 away win for the hosts and their pre season games have yielded good wins which will boost morale.

The visitors managed 5 consecutive wins before the end of last season to ensure they finished 10th (I think) however these wins were against lesser teams and recent game was a 4-0 friendly defeat to St Johnstone of Scotland (who are pretty rubbish by the way).

It's hard to predict with the opening game however the hosts will want to start in style and impress the fans, no tiredness involved so I expect a good home win.
