Basketball starts very early at Summer Olympics, and the first games are usually the best to catch good handicaps.
Brazil is a clear favourite here, and odds for them to win ML have already dropped quite a bit.
They have a very good coach, who already has an olympic gold medal with Argentina, and Brazil's goal is no other than to get a medal this time. The big mistery is with Marcelinho Huertas, because he needs to play at a good level for his team to do well in this tournament. This year he hasn't done much at FC Barcelona, but at the friendly games before the Olympics he has been playing great.
They also have great inside players, with Splitter, Varejao and Nene Hilario. Their outside players are... Leandro Barbosa + others, but the rest are quite bad and definetely the team's biggest problem.
Australia was coming here wanting to reach the medals, but they are missing Bogut.
Pat Mills has played some great friendly games though and he could be the star of the team for this tournament.
The main problem of the team is their defense, because they don't help each other and the opponents have easy shots most of the time. This will be a problem when playing against Splitter or Varejao, and Australia might have to do a lot of fouls to stay alive in the game.
I think Brazil will win, and the handicap looks a bit too short at -6.5.
