JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS TO GET LESS THAN 251 POINTS THIS NFL SEASON 2012/2013 AT ODDS 2.60
Final result: 0 - 55Profit: 0.00 - 8 = -8
We are now post London, and soon at the beginning of the NFL season for all of us football loving fans.
I have looked at a lot of over / under season picks, which I hope some of you will follow.
Jacksonville Jaguars I think looks like a team that is on a downward path in the form curve. Last year, they was disappointing at a 5-11 losing season, including two of their wins were small victories over a miserable Indianapolis Colts team. The others came against Buccs, Ravens and Titans. Jaguars had probably expected more, but it must be said that they were totally dependent on a good defense and a Maurice Jones Drew to score all of their points.
This year it looks like a similar case, with Blaine Gabbert at QB looking horrible. He threw 12 TD's last year and 11 interceptions and had a QB rating of a paltry 65.4. In addition to that, they are not reinforced at offensive. Neither Justin Blackmon or Cecil Shorts are some well-known names in the NFL, and it's probably only at TE with Marcedes Lewis and Zach Miller (who came from the Raiders) that they have something to offer. It must be up to MJD (Maurice Jones Drew) again to put most of the point on the board, and that is a big weight on his shoulders. Last year, they scored 243 points, and I can easily see that score be less this year.
We can look at their Schedule this year:
Vikings away
Texans home
Colts away
Bengals at home
Bears at home
Raiders away
Packers away
Lions home
Colts home
Houston away
Titans home
Bills away
Jets home
Dolphins away
Patriots home
Titans away
It's not the worst schedule, but still not the best. I can see them being in contention against the Vikings, and the two games against the Colts, Bills and Dolphins games, and possibly also against the Titans. Against the Texans they will get beaten big and wont score many points. Against the Lions they may well get some points, but it's a Lions team on the rise, so do not think that it will be a highscoring game for the Jaquars. Bengals, Bears and Jets should be far better teams than Jaguars, and Packers and Patriots will run the Jaguars in the trenches.
If the Jaguars have to get over the 251 point mark, they have to make just above 15 points on average per game. It may not sound like much, but I do not think they are going to get much more than 10 points combined in the two Houston matches, and then the cut all of a sudden, is already up on the 17. I think this is simply to much for a below average Jaguars offensive can match.
I think it is worth 8 units.
Good luck to all who follow, and a really good NFL season.
