ENGLISH LEAGUE 1-CRAWLEY TO BEAT PORTSMOUTH

Crawley have started their Lg1 campaign strongly with 3 wins and a defeat (0-3 to newly promoted Swindon). Whilst the victories against Doncaster and Orient were narrow 1-0's it's still a win and they have the discipline to keep it tight in defence and the strikers in Ajose and Alexander to hurt the opposition (both have two goals each in the league).

The visitors problems are well documented and after administration they have been deprived of the entire team and the manager Michael Appleton has done a remarkable job in recruiting an entire new team and keeping morale up!

Still despite the cup victory in mid week or because of it, I think the lack of depth will really start to bite Portsmouth shortly where they struggle to fill a subs bench and fill the gaps with youth players.

The visit here will be too difficult and with league defeats against Oldham and Carlisle I do not see a positive result for Pompey on this occasion.
