Both players lost in Tokyo first round. Haas to Youzhny, Almagro to Ito. Both forced tight matches. Haas played here only once, winning against compatriot Becker in tight two setter. Almagro is not impressive here with two wins out of 5 matches. I think that despite some tiredness or lack of motivation (Almagro) both players should try to win here and both have decent serve enough to force a TB or two long sets. What is more it can be one of the last matches of Haas, so I don’t think he will give up even if losses first set. Should be nice to watch.
