Istomin has played against Wawrinka once, in 2010 on grass and it was his 5 sets win. Surface here is fast so with both having good serves it should be similar. What is more I have already written that Wawrinka tends to prolong matches in the early rounds to find his best tactical moves, shots in particular tournament. Istomin had very good doubles tournament in Beijing and in singles he won a set against Tsonga, so still pretty good as well. Wawrinka needed two Tie Breaks to win against Ramos whose serve on hard is joke, so I don’t think he will be in mood and able to break Istomin serve many times.
