Port Vale currently sit 2nd from the top of League 2 behind Gillingham and have been granted extra rest following the Football League Trophy games yesterday with a Monday night game against 16th placed Oxford United.
On paper this is a clear home win. The last meeting was a 3-0 victory to Port Vale and their form this season warrants favourite status in every game. Recent results have been impressive with a penalties win against League 1 Walsall yesterday and away wins and fellow title challengers Bradford City and Exeter.
Port Vale let me down last time against Dagenham at home only managing to draw the game after coming from behind and whilst their home form is not as strong as it ought to be I still favour them to win with nice outright odds of close to evens so worth a shot at medium stakes.
Oxford have achieved 3 good recent results beating Wimbledon at home, holding leaders Gillingham at home and beating Cheltenham away in the cup. Confidence will be good for this game however their away league record is poor with 4 consecutive away defeats to lower ranked teams Rotherham, Cheltenham, Burton and York.
I can see Port Vale being too strong in this match particularly with one form striker Tom Pope on fire with 11 goals in the last 11 games.

hehe nothing serious my friend... why do you think we make all these predictions and adjust our bets...couse it's fun and it gives you proof of you knowing something about sport. anyway, i have changed my mind on betting on this game, or betting today at all. monday is a lousy day to bet, man... :P
Perkorelli, I wish you luck, just one word of advice please..do not stake more that you can afford to lose!! I know it's a cliche but it's very true, I have been there, better to go for low level stakes and spread the risk
Thank you for an explanation i see that Vale are really reliable lately just needed some extra boost cause i am about to put some serious money in to this game.
Perkorelli, like any bet, there is always a risk it won't come off. I can reason the outcome on the basis that Oxford gained two positive results at home and an away win in the cup competition where the other team may not have been focused on the result. Studying away form Oxford have lost 4 on the trot away from home in the league which suggests they don't travel well. Port Vale have also beaten higher quality sides recently. I wish you good luck anyway as of course a draw is always a possibility just not one that I predict in this instance..

abaout this game. but what makes you all so sure that this game could
not end in a draw considering the last form (last two games) by oxford?
