The reason why I think that Kai-Chen Chang will be able to make life difficult for Samantha Stosur is mainly her route through this tournament up until this semi final clash. Her past three matches she won as an underdog:

Hard WIN C. Dellacqua 7-6(4) 6-3
Hard WIN C. McHale 6-3 7-6(5)

Stosur has been so and so lately and despite a victory over Sharapova as an underdog two weeks ago in Tokyo, she went on to lose the next two games as favorite against Petrova and Goerges.

All in all, I expect Stosur to win the match, but with some difficulty.
