Haas is really playing well this year. Quite stunning at the age of 34 including movement, court coverage, timing of coming to the net. However time zone and some draining matches in Shanghai surely took their tool. Haas manages his fitness really well, but last year he was not so eager to make easy matches here and as showed Del Potro first match on this surface can be really hard one or it is better to spend more time on court to get better feel of the surface. Last year Haas here on both 1st and 2nd round matches in 3 sets. Opponents Chela (indoor hard , sic!) and Bedene surely aren’t worst than Levine. As for Levine, he dispatched dangerous Kubot with consummate ease and his recent form he can be dangerous or be just good sparring partner (20 in sets and 4-0 in 3rd against Dolgopolov in US Open to lose), beating Stebe and Berrer in Metz. I think Haas can be little sluggish here in the first match.
