This match is one of the semifinals of the Open 500 of Valencia . Rarely someone expected any of this two players to reach the semifinals. Now , let´s take a look at each player .

Alexandr Dolgopolov

The ukranian player reaches the semifinal after beating on the previous round the spaniard Marcel Granollers in a strange match (6-0 6-2) , where Marcel had some problems with his right arm . If Granollers didn´t had that problem , Dolgo could have perfectly won the match , his tennis quality is better than Granollers . But if we stick to this previous round match , Dolgopolov played aggresively , trying not to give many chances to Granollers and he even did a record of 8 consecutive games won .In Valencia he is showing that , as in Shanghai , his level of tennis currently is very good and that he is finishing the season in good form

Jurgen Melzer

The austrian player reaches semifinals after beating on the previous round the surprise of the tournament : David Goffin . He worked very hard to win that match , as he started loosing the first set by 4-1 . The match has been very tight but he is also showing that the first round loss in Vienna was a mistake and that he is still capable of reaching far rounds in ATP tournaments

This two players have meet once .It was this year at Beijing a few weeks ago .That match was very tight and finally Melzer won in three sets . After seeing their matches along this week , in my opinion , Dolgopolov has the perfect opportunity to reach this tournament´s final and i think that he will win his match against Jurgen. He will be less tired as his match has been much easier to win than austrian one . His level of tennis is a bit higher right now than Jurgen´s and he has showed that he has good confidence on his play , doing great winners in the last two matches and also serving really good .

My prediction : tight match , but Dolgopolov should win it .
