In my opinion this meeting could turn out to be game of the day in basketball Euroleague.
CSKA who is one of top favorites to win Euroleague will visit Istanbul for game with Besiktas. Clearly, quality is on the side of visitors, but I feel they could be in trouble today the same as they were in Belgrade against Partizan. In Serbian capital CSKA barely managed to win, they were very lucky. Partizan had open shoot for a win in regular time but missed, then in OT Partizan had 4 points advantage with less then 2 minutes left. Still, CSKA won at the end.
Still, it was clear Russian champion has problem when they need to face with such hot home court. Pressure from the stands on them was really huge and they simply have not played on highest level. Today CSKA could face with same pressure again since we will see exactly the same as in Belgrade when it comes to support from the stands to home team. Well, maybe not exactly the same as in Belgrade cause there is no where something like in Pionir hall, but it is fact Besiktas has one of better home courts in Euroleague.
Together with Barcelona, Maccabi and Zalgiris, CSKA is the only team with perfect record. But they could lose today. If they again start the game slowly like in Belgrade, it could cost them. Partizan failed back then to use bad start of CSKA, but Besiktas is more quality team then Partizan and in my opinion they will have better chances against CSKA for success.
Also note that Serbian player Erceg and member of CSKA wont be in the team. He is out for 3 to 4 months because of injury. Mostly thanks to this player, CSKA won game in Belgrade when Erceg hit three or four 3-points shoot in very important moments.
