Knicks to win and cover
The Knicks suffered a grueling defeat against the Grizzlies. Besides that, I still think the Knicks are a very strong team indeed. They are the last team right now to have suffered their first defeat. With hot performances by Carmello Anthony and JR Smith, there is no doubt that the Knicks have the potential to score lots.
At home the Knicks have won 3 and lost 0 and each of these wins coming by double digits.
Indiana are having a lot of trouble scoring without Danny Granger but they have been doing well defensively without him. The Pacers allowed only one team to reach 100 points. This is the only worrying point for the Knicks, the Pacers are peforming very well defensively and I do not expect this game to be any different. They are allowing on average 90.3 points per game whilst making a very low 89.3 ppg. Their coach knows that their fire power is diminished and they will look to fix this today.
TIP: Carmello Anthony has averaged 25.5 points in 22 career games against the Pacers. Very solid performances overall against this team and I believe this will happen again tonight. I know he is frustrated after the Grizzlies game and he will look to fire up agains the Pacers and make up for the loss.
Do not forget that the Knicks have performed very well these past games and were unbeaten. They kept that unbeaten record until the Grizzlies came along but nevertheless, they are vastly improved. They are making 102.3 baskets per game whilst conceding only 92.0. That pretty much says it all here.
The Knicks will cover here. They are frustrated by the Grizzlies game and I'm sure they will want to perform at full potential to make up for the loss. Watch out for Carmello Anthony who will take the field as he always does.
This game will be a win for the Knicks. Whilst I do not agree with the -7 handicap line as most bookies have put up. This line is pretty high in my view as I think the Pacers have the defensive capability to worry the Knicks. So I have put up a -4 handicap just to make this bet a little safer.
