NORWICH TO NICK IT AGAINST VISITING NEWCASTLE

Norwich will be happy to welcome Newcastle United to their home ground this weekend on the back of 4 straight defeats. The 10 game unbeaten run which the Canaries enjoyed through most of November and December is now as stale and forgotten as leftover Christmas pudding. The club's form however has been somewhat more memorable. The Canaries have played pretty well in their most recent defeats but have just not gotten anything to show for their efforts. Houghton's men can boast putting 3 past City and holding Chelsea to 1, but all the manager will be hoping for here is a positive result.

Newcastle likewise are on quite an impressive slide. The Magpies have lost 6 in 7 matches in all competitions and have lost 5 in a row away from St. James'. Demba Ba's departure will be far from uplifting for Newcastle fans as the goal scoring burden will fall squarely on Pappis Cisse's shoulders. After enjoying a bright start with the club, Cisse has netted only 4 times this season. A figure which represents less than a third of Demba Ba's goal tally. Reinforcement will likely be arriving but whether or not they can keep Newcastle in the league will remain to be seen.

I really cannot see Newcastle scoring more than 1 here and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they can't find the net at all. Norwich may decide to go for it, but fear of loosing will be present for the home side as well. Overall I expect a pretty cagey affair and a draw is somewhat likely with Norwich slightly more likely to nick it by a goal.
