Real Madrid's odds here for the outright are 1.50 which is generous although may reflect the struggles Madrid have experienced on their travels this season in La Liga losing away at Malaga, Betis, Seville and Getafe.

Still, two victories on return from the winter break and 5 goals for Ronaldo suggest that the Madrid machine is cranking up for the second half of the season where the trophies are won and lost and I have the feeling that they will be hard to start from now until the end of the season. Their start has been unconvincing and there is no realistic prospect of catching Barca in the league being 16 points behind however they will want to finish second and close the gap and their city rivals.
