MOMO SISSOKO WILL MAKE HIS RETURN TO FIORENTINA

Momo Sissoko will make his return to Italian football with Fiorentina when he comes up against Inter on Sunday evening.

The match will be played at the Artemio Franchi, with kick-off at 20h45.

The Nerazzurri were left grinning last weekend when they managed to leapfrog their bitter rivals Milan and move one point short of Lazio in third place.

With an impressive 3-1 win over Chievo getting them back to winning ways, they will be hoping that they can cease the moment and spread it over to the weekend fixture in Tuscany.

It will be easier said than done for Andrea Stramaccioni’s men who have not won on the road since their 3-1 victory over Juventus back in November 2012.

New signing Mate Kovacic could be absent from the clash, after failing to shake off a niggling injury while Joel Obi continues in his struggles for fitness and continues to be sidelined.

Sissoko’s timely arrival in the purple half of Tuscany sees him ready and fit to play in Sunday’s fixture.

“I am very happy to be here. Here there is a great project, I want to do my best to help the squad: we are strong and we can do well,” he told Sky Sports.

“My teammates have already given me their greetings; I have found a happy and calm atmosphere here.”

Sissoko’s debut will mark his return on Italian soil since for the first time since having suffered a season ending injury with Juventus back in 2011, which required surgery to his knee.

His three injury ridden years with the Bianconeri ultimately overshadowed his time at the club and he will be hoping that fortunes will be favouring in his second tenure at the club.

A win for the Viola will move them one point shy of Inter and that extra step closer to the Champions League zone, an area in which Milan and Inter are both battling for- lining up an enticing affair.
