Steve Gollings does very well at his local course Market Rasen, and his consistent handicapper Bar de Ligne is fancied to land the 3.30 this afternoon. The 7-y-o ran really well when runner-up at Wetherby in November, pressing the classy Trustan Times hard as the pair trapped clear in the straight, and that level has been maintained in two red hot events at Haydock and Ascot since. He is reunited with Robert Thornton at a track he has won at in the past, and faces very few progressive rivals in a race not as competitive as the numbers suggest. Main danger is four-timer seeking favourite Thunderstorm, who has been a revelation this season after returning from injury. However, he has been lumped up a chunk in the weights now, and might not have won with that much in hand last time out. This is sure to be a fast run race with Marodima in the line up, and that should be ideal for our choice to swoop in the closing stages.
