This is a tough encounter where Sampdoria are undefeated in their last three matches, and have finally remembered how to score.

Napoli were humiliated in the Europa League and its how they respond today and the visitors will look to be a thorn in the host ambitions.

As stated Sampdoria are unbeaten in three, including an impressive 6-0 victory over Pescara. Mauro Icardi, who scored four in that match, scored again last weekend, in Samp's 3-1 win over Roma. They are now 11th in Serie A but only seven points from safety.

And after Napoli's pathetic showing away to Viktoria Plzen, Sampdoria can think they have a chance here.

Results such as the one in the Europa League just serve to show that, as incredible as Edinson Cavani might be, he is not the backbone of the side. When they are without Gokhan Inler and Marek Hamsik they struggle big time.

They need three points today to keep Juventus from running away with the title.
