A season without a title is always a blow for a team like Bayern Munich and they should prevail here with their quality in the semifinals of the German Cup against Schalke, otherwise Louis Van Gaal has to answer anooying questions.

Bayern had a lot of problems with Dortmund but against Schalke we will see a different match. Dortmund dominated in the midfield with a lot of pressure and with their fast attacks they did a lot of damage to Bayern and that is the key against them but Schalke plays different and Bayern should have more space than against Dortmund and should take advantage of it with their wings and Gomez/Muller up front.
I also expect them to bounce back after the disappointing result against Dortmund and they do have the quality for it. Schweinsteiger had a horrible day and I expect him a lot of better today.
Bayern knows that this is their biggest chance to win a title this season and the players know that this is very important for the club.

Schalke is coming off a draw against Nurnberg. They had a lot of problems in the defence and today I expect a lot of more with Robben and Ribery. Metzelder is still not convincing and the creativity in the midfield is also a problem of Schalke. Huntelaar has to score a goal for months and Raul can`t solve all the problems of Schalke.

Both teams have a shaky defence but Bayern has way the better offence and with their home advantage they should prevail here. Another lose would be a disaster for Bayern and Schalke needs to play a terrific match to beat Munich and I doubt this.

I think the best choice is Bayern -1, as Schalke has to open their doors if Munich leads the match. In case of a home win with a margin of just one goal we get our money back and I take this one with high stakes.
