Stage 9 of Tour de France
After two days of mountain claiming, Stage 9 will be sort of a relief for the peloton. There will be no category climb on this 41.5km race from Arc-et-Senans to Besancon. One of the two longer individual time trials, we will see time trial specialize riders such as the Bradley Wiggins, Edvald Boasson Hagen and Tony Martins of Omega-Pharma thrive.
Bradley Wiggins of Team Sky had his outburst to the media about being compared to Lance Armstrong who is currently been linked in an investigation by the US Anti-doping Agency. Having given his piece, he will not let this destruct him of his main aim this year, to win the Tour de France 2012. With Wiggo placing himself in a good position after a week run in the Tour and combined it with tomorrow’s race up his alley, we can expect that he will widen the gap between him and is rivals. However, Fabian Cancellara Radioshack-Nissan bookmakers’ favorite Odds 19/10 to win Stage 9.
