Winner will get to feel the coastal breeze when they hit the finish line at Le Cap d’Agde, but before that there is 217km to cover starting from Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux. Both towns have stage the Tour de France in total of three times so relative rare to have this route and seeing the Mediterranean coast for the riders. There will be only one mountain pass to contemplate with and as this terrain in classified as plain, this should be plane sailing all the way to the sunny seas.
Key factor
One big key factor is the date, it’s the French national day and so whoever get the yellow jersey will get a big reception at Le Cap d’Agde. Before that happens, there will be one climb after 194km where a 1.6km climb awaits them on the Mont Saint-Clair. Sprinters might benefit on Bastille day.
