Some would argue this would be yet another tough mountain to bare but many will see this as a crucial winning position to keep if the yellow jersey is their dream. The most tricky thing about this route is that there is no flat for the rider to enjoy, it is literally what goes up, must come down and this is where the mountain that will show some risk takers.
Stage 17 will see the last five mountains to cover and they vary but one thing is true, there will be no flat so there will be no hiding. Col de Mente is first up at 1349m high and 9.3km to cover, second one is at 797m with 6.0km climb, while Cote de Burs is a little climb at 1.2km but steep, then the fourth mountain is at 1755m for Port de Bales for 11.7km and final mountain on the Tour de France is Peyragudes for 15.km distance to cover. There will be no rest and no wonder people say you got to earn the yellow jersey when you get to Pyrenees.
