Vise – Tournai , 207.5km
The route of stage 2 turns into a cross country event for the competitive cyclist and the 207.5km demonstrates this feature. It will be the first time that the French scenario will come into play as they cross the Franco-Belgian border, ending up at the Tournai, where it has been a firm event in the Tour de France schedule. Stage 2 of the Tour de France will focus more of the sprinting abilities and with only one mountain or hill to pass, it won’t be that tough as it was in Stage 1. So ones who disappoint in Stage 1 could get their chance in Stage 2 to make amends.
Key factor from Vise to Tournai
It is all about sprinting in Stage 2 and certainly one who are good in doing that will benefit from this terrain. Besides the massive sprint at the end of the stage to Tournai, there will be one mountain pass that could be a decisive point of the race and that is at Cote de la Citadelle de Namur after 82.5km where they have to climb for 2.1 km.
