Tour de France Teams
When 99th Tour de France starts on the 30 June 2012, there are 22 Teams that will gather in Liege to mark start of the race. Each team has nine riders each, bringing the total number of participants to 198. With 20 Stages, the peloton will pedal their way to the toughest, longest and most challenging route in the Tour's event.

SKY PROCYCLING (SKY)
Team Sky will be led by Bradley Wiggins. Winning the Paris-Nice, Tour de Rmandie and Criterium du Dauphine stage races, Wiggins is the favourite by the bookmaker to win the 99th edition of Tour de France’ yellow jersey this year. Under his leadership, his squad consists of world class cyclist with a proven track record. With the likes of his fellow British comraded Mark Cavendish and Michael Rogers, along with Edvald Boasson Hagen, Richie Porte, Bernhard Eisel, Kantstantsin Siutsou and Christian Knees. Read more ...
RADIOSHACK-NISSAN

The Schleck brothers have always been together giving each other the push they needed every race they participated. For the first time in five years, Frank will be riding without the company of his sibling. Team Radio Shack - Nissan will be without their usual team leader. Andy Schleck will not compete in the Tour de France due to a fractured pelvis that he sustained during a crash at the Dauphine. Having thrown the towel, it was expected that the older brother will carry on the task to be the captain. However, unwilling to be an easy target for the critics, Frank Scheleck has also thrown the towel to lead his team RadioShack-Nissan at the Tour de France 2012. Read more...
BMC RACING (BMC)
There is only one mission for rest of the Team BMC, that is to protect and defend the title Tour de France 2011 title that Cadel Evans in hope to become the first rider in the Tour to win back-to-back. BMC’s lead superstar feels confident and as a whole, it has a strong team to support him. OMEGA PHARMA-QUICK STEP (OPQ)
The Belgian team Omega Pharma –Quick who is currently 4th in the UCI ranking has a very successful season. The team will not have their best successful Tom Boonen during the 2012 Tour de France as he opt out in favour of preparing for the 2012 Olympics in London instead. In his absence, the team have Tony Martin and Levi Leipheimer along with Bert Grabsch, Sylvain Chavanel, Peter Velits, Kevin De Weert, Dries Devenyns, Jerome Pineau and Stijn Vandenbergh in pursuing the title. EUSKALTEL - EUSKADI (EUS)
Euskaltel – Euskadi’s main leading man to take them to 2012 Tour de France’s podium will be Samuel Sanchez. After taking part in Criterium du Dauphine early this month, the reigning Olympic Champion skip Tour de Suisse to focus his energy in this year’s Grand Tour in France. Despite uncertain future of his team, he is hoping to lead them to victory with the help of his team mates Mikel Astarloza, Jorge Azanza Soto, Gorka Izaguirre Insausti, Egoi Martinez, Alan Perez Lezaun, Ruben Perez Moreno, Pablo Urtasun Perez and Gorka Verdugo. Orica-GreenEdge will be making its Tour de France debut on the 30th June 2012 at Liege, Belguim. The game plan is not to aim for the general classification but instead, will be aiming for Stage win. Matt Goss of Australia will be the key man to hunt for this and will be chasing for the green jersey. A week before the race, the name changed from Garmin-Barracuda to Garmin-Sharp - Barracuda after securing a sponsorship with Sharp. Leading them to start in Liege will be world class cyclist Ryder Jesjedal. The winner of the Giro d’Italia will have the support of Tom Danielson, Tyler Farrar, Robert Hunter, Daniel Martin, David Millar, Johan Van Summeren, Christian Vande Velde and David Zabriskie. Liquigas - Cannondale's hope lies on Peter Sagan who had recently won three stages win and the Points Classification in Tour de Suisse, as well as, Vincenzo Nibali who missed the Giro d’Italia in favour of the 99th Tour. Team Saxo Bank will be without their main talisman Alberto Contador and with this comes a game plan to focus not on the yellow jersey but winning the Stages round of the Tour de France.
