Thursday’s Horse Racing Tips: Goodwood, July 28th
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – July 28th
There are 6 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with the third day of Glorious Goodwood very much the highlight.
The feature betting race of the afternoon is likely to be the Group 1 Nassau Stakes at 3.35pm, with John and Thady Gosden’s top class Nashwa sure to take plenty of beating for this valuable prize.
There are two other Group races on the card, with some ultra competitive handicaps setting punters a typically stern challenge at this uniquely undulating track. Elsewhere, the Galway festival continues in front of massive crowds, while there is turf action from Epsom, Nottingham and Salisbury. For jumps fans, Stratford hosts a low grade card with small fields starting at 1.25pm.

Goodwood 3:35 (UK time)
John and Thady Gosden’s top class filly has tasted defeat only once this summer when rather an unlucky third behind Tuesday in the Epsom Oaks, and she showed a terrific attitude to land the Group 1 Prix de Diane last time out at Chantilly. She has a high cruising speed that should be just as effective on the faster ground expected at Goodwood on Thursday, and she remains with the potential to keep on improving after just five career starts. Regular rider Hollie Doyle gets on extremely well with her, and this looks an excellent opportunity to land the odds against largely inferior rivals.

Goodwood 4:10 (UK time)
George Boughey’s juvenile overcame inexperience to make a winning start at Brighton in June, and shaped very well in defeat when only fourth at Carlisle last time out 36 days ago (staying on well from a poor position). He looks sure to be suited by this step up to seven furlongs now going handicapping for the first time, and an opening mark of just 80 may well underestimate his potential to keep on improving. William Buick is an excellent booking as he chases down the championship, and plenty of these rivals are already looking far more exposed.
Odds are best odds available as at 9am July 28th 2022. Odds may now differ.
