Review

bet365 have been one of the most amazing success stories of the past decade. Having built themselves up from a small base in their northern heartlands, bet365 now leads the way in both advertising as well as their superb in-running service via the web.

For racing punters bet365 offer odds on all events, with many priced up the night before, leaving them vulnerable to shrewd punters picking them off before the exchange driven price model has any liquidity. This has led to many complaints about excessive account restrictions (particularly on those players who specialise in betting solely on lower grade racing), but in all truth this misses the point. bet365 deliberately target the "leisure" punter, someone who wants to play regularly and in relatively small size (£10-£50), typically on televised events (many bet365 offers are tied into the "Channel 4" races on Saturday's and festivals). They have successfully captured an army of these punters and offer excellent offers to these chosen players on a very regular basis. Starting from January 2017, ITV broadacast replaces Channel 4.

ITV will be replacing Channel 4 as the horse racing broadcaster starting from 1st of January 2017. There are 3 new betting offers

For the novice punter, offers such as cashback if your horse falls, or money back if he finishes second to the favourite, are very attractive and have proven to be very popular. At the recent Cheltenham festival bet365 led the way along with Paddy Power in innovative marketing ideas on a daily basis and it is this form of PR that bet365 lead the way.

Bet365 are backed up technically by an excellent "state of the art" website that avoids much of the clutter and confusion that can be an issue on other bookmaker sites, avoiding pop-ups that distract the punter and can interrupt the overall betting experience. The site is also extremely reliable and backed up by fast and efficient customer service, with queries dealt with smoothly and efficiently. Payments and withdrawals are a pain free process, with none of the complexities of some of the smaller sites.

For semi-professional players bet365 can cause some frustration, with some of their overnight racing prices very attractive (and often proven the next day to be way out of line). However, it is simply a case of accepting these in the size that they are available and taking advantage as best you can.

Bet365 overall offers a reliable betting experience, with very few complaints from the type of customer they are seeking to attract, and any "new" to racing punter is strongly recommended to open an account.

Best for: Recreational punters who like to bet on Saturday's televised racing.
