Friday's Transfer News and Gossip

Mason Check In at Wolves

Wolves transfer news

Wolverhampton Wanderers have unveiled the latest signing from Cardiff City, Joe Mason for around £3m.

Wolves have been on the hunt for a new striker since Benik Afobe departed for Bournemouth and have identified Cardiff's 24 year-old striker as their ideal man. Mason has just 6 goals in 24 appearances in the Championship this season and will hope to add to his tally with the Midlands club for the remainder of the season.

Newcastle Outspend Top Leagues

Newcastle transfer news

Newcastle United fans frustrated with the club's apparent lack of ambition in the past may be slightly happier now, as the club is reported to be one of the top global spenders so far in the January transfer market. With Henri Saivet, Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend, the last two costing around £12m each. Rumours are a striker will sign before the transfer deadline with Swansea City's Bafetimbi Gomis still strongly linked.

Rangers Complete Move for Winger

Rangers transfer news

In more Scottish football news, Glasgow Rangers have completed the loan-signing of Hearts wingers Billy King.

The 21 year-old will be keen to get his career back on-track after an injury. The winger played a key role in helping Hearts win promotion back to the SPL ahead of Rangers last season, so there's no doubt Rangers will be hoping he can add that experience to their likely promotion push this season.

Celtic Not Finished in Transfer Market

Celtic transfer news

Following a trial period with Celtic, 17 year-old Norwegian Kristoffer Ajer has left the club, but it's reported that Ronny Deila and Celtic are still interested in getting him in to club on a permanent basis. The club have suggested that if a deal does happen it will be announced by the close of the transfer window.

Still no announcement regarding a loan-move for Manchester City's Patrick Roberts, it would seem as if they Scottish champions want him on-loan for a longer period than offered, so this one may take a big longer if it does go through.

Matt Philips Next Club Odds & Sandro

WBA transfer news

Tony Pulis is reportedly still interested in getting a deal done for 24 year-old winger Matt Philips by the January transfer deadline, and with odds of 6/4 (2.50) available at Sky Bet, the value is very much there, and the bookmakers are seemingly treating this as a deal that could happen.

It's also reported today that WBA are looking to strike a loan-deal for QPR's Brazilian midfielder Sandro, with the London club keen on letting the player leave to free up wages and capital.

Wednesday are odds-on to sign him at 2/5, with Leeds' odds slashed from 28/1 (29.0) to 7/4 (2.75) with Sky Bet. Celtic are apparently also in the mix with 25/1 (26.0) being offered.(Source - Liverpool Echo) - 28th January 2016

Robert Lewandowski Transfer News

Although not on the move (as far as we know) in this January transfer window, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski is a hot topic of discussion.

Reports today suggest that the lethal Polish striker will snub any move to the English Premier League in-favour of a 'dream move' to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, or if the ban stands, then in the summer of 2017 instead. (Source - The Independent) - 28th January 2016

Graziano Pelle Next Club Odds

Leicester transfer news

Reports today are linking Italian international Graziano Pelle with a move to Premier League leaders Leicester City.

The Foxes were apparently unsuccessful in their bid to sign another Italian, Eder at Sampdoria, who they bid in the region of £10m for. According to the newspaper report today, Pelle could be available for around half that price after Southampton signed Charlie Austin last week, leaving the Italian even further down the pecking order. Juventus are the favourites to sign the striker however, and are available at 11/4 (3.75)

Palace Want Hull City Midfielder

Crystal Palace transfer news

Look away now Hull City fans, Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace are apparently tracking Mohamed Diame to strengthen their midfield in the Premier League.

In Hull's favour is the fact they are amongst the favourites to return to the top flight this season and sit top of the Championship table. The 28-year old signed for Hull from West Ham back in 2014 and may be attracted to a move back to London, however it appears this one is nowhere near close to being done, and Steve Bruce's side would surely demand a high fee for his services. (Source - TalkSport) - 27th January 2016

Wolves To Sign £3M Mason

Wolves transfer news

It's reported today that Wolves have moved a step closer to signing Cardiff City's striker Joe Mason in a deal reportedly in the region of £3M.

Wolves have been on the hunt for a new striker since Benik Afobe departed for Bournemouth and have identified Cardiff's 24 year-old striker as their ideal man. PNE Want Charlton Target Feeney

Charlton transfer news

Relegation threatened Charlton apparently face competition in the form of league rivals Preston North End for the signature of Warren Feeney from debt-threatened Bolton Wanderers.

Feeney who is 29 years-old would be available on the cheap with Bolton's financial plight, and the London born player may be persuaded to return 'home' to play at Charlton Athletic. One report today suggests the Preston may be put off by the wage demands for a player of such an age, leaving the door open to the player's move to the Valley. (Source - Lancashire Evening Post) - 27th January 2016

Celtic To Finalise Roberts Loan

Celtic transfer news

Scottish champions Celtic are moving closer to the loan signing of Manchester City's Patrick Roberts until the end of the season.

The young English talent signed for the Manchester club last summer for a reported fee of £11m from Championship side Fulham. The move will give the youngster the opportunity to get first team football and to provide cover in Celtic's almost inevitable bid in retaining their league title this season.

West Ham Close In On Emenike

West Ham transfer news

Interestingly with West Ham linked to Fenerbahce's Robin Van Persie, it's reported that the Hammer's are now close to sealing the loan transfer of another of the club's strikers, Emmanuel Emenike.

The Nigerian forward has been on-loan this season as Al Ain and has scored 9 times in 15 appearances and would add much needed cover to Slaven Bilic's side as they push for a European spot at the end of the season. (Source - Sky Sports) - 27th January 2016

Chelsea Transfer Rumour

Today, with just 6 days until the window closes, Chelsea are once again in the transfer news. Reports are linking the Blue's with Fenerbahce's Robin Van Persie, with the Dutchman apparently unhappy with his situation in Turkey.

However, any move to Stamford Bridge apparently hinges on the loan completion of Pato today. Interestingly there currently aren't any odds being offered on Chelsea bringing in the former United and Arsenal forward, with BetVictor bookmaker still offering odds of 5/1 (6.00) and 7/1 (8.00) on West Ham and Barcelona to take him by the close of the January transfer window. (Source - The Express) - 27th January 2016

Dwight Gayle Next Club Odds

Swansea transfer news

Although in the running with bookmakers such as BetVictor, Swansea have today prompted their interest in bringing in Crystal Palaces's Dwight Gayle to the Libery Stadium. If true, the Swans will probably move in to leading the race for the 26 year-old, with Middlesbrough also vying for his signature.

Currently there's a price of 2/1 (3.00) on him moving to Swansea, but it would seem that they will have to stump up more than they would ideally like to spend, with Palace looking to recoup the £6m they paid for him, and then some.

Sheffield Wednesday remain the firm favourites for the signature of Irish international and Everton player Aiden McGeady, however it's reported today that Leeds United may up their interest for the player who has been told he can leave by Roberto Martinez.

Wednesday are odds-on to sign him at 1/4, with Leeds much longer priced at 28/1 (29.0) with Sky Bet. Celtic are apparently also in the mix with 18/1 (19.0) being offered, but at this time with still no firm offer on the table and this reported interest there could well be value and possibly a subsequent price drop on Leeds signing the player. (Source - Yorkshire Evening Post) - 26th January 2016

Alex Teixeira Next Club Odds

Liverpool Transfer News

According to reports, Liverpool's initial bid of £25m for Brazilian international Alex Teixeira, currently playing in the Ukrainian league with Shakhtar Donetsk is short of the mark and the player's club possibly want an extra £10m before considering the deal.

Chelsea were the initial front-runners to sign the player, with Sky Bet last week offering odds of 1/1 (2.00) on him heading to Stamford Bridge, today those odds have lengthened considerably to 10/1 (11.0). Andre Ayew Next Club Odds

Sunderland transfer news

After being picked up by multiple medias last night, Premier League strugglers Sunderland apparently made a £10m bid plus Fabio Borini offer to Swansea City for their attacking star Andre Ayew.

The odds on Ayew leaving for Sunderland have been slashed down to 6/4 (2.50) with Sky Bet, however 1/2 (1.50) is the hard price on him staying in South Wales. Swansea are not willing to sell their best performing player this season and Ayew might not see the logic in moving to a side with the real possibility of relegation looming, with the Black Cats currently in 19th place in the Premier League. (Source - Sky Sports) - 26th January 2016

Rangers Target O'Halloran 'Priceless'

Rangers transfer news

Mark Warburton's Rangers side are top of the Scottish Championship table but remain on the hunt for new recruits. St Johnstone's winger Michael O'Halloran is the target, but the player's club has so far fended off interest from Rangers for the 25 year-old. With the player still having over a year on his contract, the SPL club could eventually be tempted to cash in, but with 10 assists and a commanding performance in their defeat to Celtic at the weekend, they will most likely be keen to hold on until at least the summer.

With Rangers top of the table and the lure of big SPL matches back at Ibrox next season, O'Halloran might see the appeal in making the move now before the January transfer window closes next week. (Source - Daily Record) - 26th January 2016

Andros Townsend Next Club Odds

Newcastle transfer news

According to reports, the long-winded transfer saga over England international Andros Townsend, by all account, seems to be nearing a conclusion. Tottenham have agreed a fee with Newcastle (in the region of £12m) and a deal will be done within the next 24 hours.

Bookmaker Sky Bet have reacted by offering odds of 3/25 (1.12), while just a couple of days ago they were offering odds of 2/1 (3.00) on him making the move North. Interestingly for any Spurs fans harbouring the possibility of him staying at White Hart Lane, odds of 8/1 (9.00) are being offered, so those odds certainly reflect a 'done deal' but there might be value there if the deal collapses with just 7 days to go. (Source - The Guardian) - 26th January 2016

Diego Fabbrini Transfer News

Birmingham transfer news

Another player being linked with St Andrew's is Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj, who is currently 8/1 (9.00) with BetVictor to sign with the club (most likely on-loan), before the transfer window closes.

Ramires £25m Switch to Chinese Club

Chelsea Transfer Rumour

In what appears to be breaking transfer news this afternoon, Chelsea's Brazilian midfielder Ramires is on the verge of a £25m switch to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.

The news will come as quite a shock to European suitors, but money apparently has convinced the midfielder to make the move to the Far East. Chelsea seem keen to sell and look set to rebuild their squad ahead of a new manager being appointed in the summer. (Source - Daily Mail) - 25th January 2016

Robin Van Persie Next Club Odds

West Ham transfer news

Robin Van Persie is apparently looking for an exit to his time in Turkey with Fenerbahce and rumours of a possible shock move to Barcelona have doing the rounds on and off for the last couple of months. You can get odds of 6/1 (7.00) on the former Man Utd and Arsenal man moving to the Nou Camp.

However, possibly more surprising is the fact that BetVictor bookmakers are offering 14/1 (15.00) odds of him making a move to East London with West Ham before the January transfer window closes. These odds have fallen from 20/1 (21.00) back in November, so there's obviously an appetite for such a move to happen.

Mario Balotelli Transfer News

West Brom transfer news

According to a newspaper source today, Mario Balotelli, the ever controversial striker is linked with what would be a huge shock move to West Brom in the Premier League.

The Italian striker is currently on-loan at AC Milan but could make a return to Liverpool in this transfer window after failing to make an impact at the San Siro. Some clubs will look at the possibility of a loan deal and this potentially surprising move is apparently on the cards. Watford Close To Signing Suarez

Watford Transfer NewsReports today are suggesting that Watford are close to signing Mario Suarez from Fiorentina, possibly on loan. The Spanish international had apparently spurned an opportunity to move to Vicarage Road earlier in January, however, with options limited at his current club Fiorentina the move now appears to be back on.

The 28 year-old defensive midfielder would add much needed experience and quality in the second half of the season, and it looks as if they move could be good all round with Suarez keen to make an impact after being restricted to limited appearances for Fiorentina in both Serie A and the Europa League. Bafetimbi Gomis Next Club Odds

Swansea transfer news

After being left out of the Swansea squad due to personal reasons over the weekend, the speculation that French striker Bafetimbi Gomis will move on in the January transfer window intensifies.

The favourites are Newcaslte who are still searching for a new striker, and with a reported value of around £7m required to activate a release clause, the odds on it happening in the next 8 days seems likely. With Swansea looking to strengthen, it seems they will cash in while they can. Last Friday the odds at BetVictor on Gomis going to Newcastle were around 6/1 (7.00), today they stand at a decreased 4/5 (1.80).

Celtic Loan Move For City's Roberts

Celtic transfer news

8 days until the January transfer window slams shut and there's movement to kick us off on Monday. Scottish champions Celtic are poised to sign Manchester City's Patrick Roberts on loan until the end of the season.

The young English talent signed for the Manchester club last summer for a reported fee of £11m from Championship side Fulham. The move will give the youngster the opportunity to get first team football and to provide cover in Celtic's almost inevitable bid in retaining their league title this season. (Source - Daily Mail) - 25th January 2016

Rangers Target Wanted by Leeds

Leeds transfer news

Leeds United have apparently made good on their interest in signing Brentford's 28 year-old French midfielder Toumani Diagouraga.

Rangers also want the player, with former-manager Mark Warburton keen to bring the player to Glasgow in a bid to get promotion back to the SPL. Now it's reported that Leeds United have had their fee accepted, for the player who has recently asked to leave the London club. (Source - Sky Sports) - 22nd January 2016

Daniel Sturridge Next Club Odds

West Ham transfer news

Various reports in the last 24 hours have linked injury-plagued, Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge with a move to West Ham United. Some figures being thrown around suggest it would take around £18m to get the move on, however at this time both club managers are playing down the rumour.

BetVictor are one of the only bookmakers offering prices on such a move, and are currently pricing West Ham at 5/1 (6.00) to get their potential target. This could well be a fine 'wild card' bet, and such a move seems unlikely unless Klopp's patience runs out.

In case you missed it Mauro Zarate depareted the East London club yesterday to Serie A challengers Fiorentina.

Jordan Rhodes Next Club Odds

Swansea transfer news

Swansea have been surprising everyone in January, first with their slide into the relegation dogfight and then with the left-field appointment of 60 year-old Francesco Guidolin as head coach. Today, according to reports, the South Wales Premier League club are interested in Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes.

Apparently a bid has been made but the Championship club are holding out for a figure in the region of £10m. (Source - Daily Mirror) - 22nd January 2016

Saido Berahino Next Club Odds

Newcastle transfer news

It seems like a day doesn't go by without a dosage of Saido Berahino transfer gossip. Sources today suggest that there are now four clubs seriously interested in the strikers services from West Brom.

Newcastle United have gone back to the front of the queue as the favourites for his signature with odds of 13/8 (2.63), while Chelsea have fallen back slightly from yesterday, now priced at 2/1 (3.00). The other two clubs reportedly in the mix are Tottenham, who retain an interest in the player they failed to sign last year and Stoke City, who as a long shot bet at 33/1 (34.00) with Sky Bet, may now increase their interest if the price is right.

Apparently, there's no concrete offer year and this transfer saga looks like it may go all the way in the January transfer window. (Source - Sky Sports) - 21st January 2016

Alex Teixeira Next Club Odds

Liverpool Transfer News

Fresh off the transfer news this morning - Liverpool have bid in the region of £25m for Brazilian international Alex Teixeira, currently playing in the Ukrainian league with Shakhtar Donetsk.

It's believed that representatives of the club have flown out to get the deal sorted, however the Ukrainian club look set to hold out for as much as £30m for the player. Chelsea were believed to be the front-runners to sign the player, with Sky Bet offering odds of 1/1 (2.00) on him still heading to Stamford Bridge. Interestingly the odds have moved on the player now heading to Anfield, with odds of 1/1 (2.00) also being offered - so this looks set to be a head-to-head battle for his signature. (Source - The Guardian) - 21st January 2016

Kevin Nolan Signs As Player/Manager

Various reports today have revealed that Kevin Nolan has signed as the new player/manager of Leyton Orient football club, playing their football in Sky Bet League Two.

The London side are currently sitting outside of the play-off positions in 11th place, however it will seemingly be expected for Nolan to achieve at the very least a spot in the top 7 places in the league to give them a chance of promotion come the end of the season. BetVictor bookmaker were still offering odds on the former Newcastle and West Ham player becoming player/manager this morning but this market has now closed. (Source - Various) - 21st January 2016

Steven Fletcher Next Club Odds

With Sunderland bringing in Dame N'Doye and the in-form Jermaine Defore currently leading the line, striker Steven Fletcher may be on the way out of the Stadium of Light in January.

Bookmaker BetVictor currently gives Celtic the edge in the betting, with 2/1 (3.00), with Wolverhampton Wanderers just behind with odds of 5/1 (6.00) to sign the Scottish international. Wolves are currently being linked with a range of strikers since raking in around £10m for the recently sold Afobe to Bournemouth and will likely have more funds to play with than the Glasgow club.

The 28 year-old is at the prime of his career and will be looking to nail down regular football as soon as possible, and add to his 4 goals this season in all competitions.

Wolves Want Leeds Striker Transfer Talk

New Zealand striker Chris Woods moved to Leeds United last summer from Leicester City, but he's today being linked with a move to Wolves, as Kenny Jackett seeks a replacement for the recently depareted Benik Afobe.

The 24 year-old striker has scored 8 goals for Leeds United and has recently found himself injured. If Wolves are to come in for him it will surely have to be for more than the original £3m paid for him in 2015. (Source - TeamTalk) - 20th January 2016

Andros Townsend Next Club Odds

Newcastle transfer news

Bookmakers have shortened the odds on this deal going through, however Spurs and Watford remain outsiders for his signature with odds of 10/3 (4.33) at Sky Bet and 5/1 (6.00) at BetVictor respectively. Newcastle who are now seemingly his club of choice have seen their odds change slightly to 4/7 (1.57), so there's still a little value to be had, but the odds do back up the reports linking the player to Steve McClaren’s side, ahead of what looks to be a deal in the region of £14m.

Newcastle had apparently wanted a loan deal for the player, but Tottenham want to cash-in now and seem to be pushing Newcastle hard to splash the cash. (Source - Daily Mail) - 20th January 2016

Townsend to Newcastle with odds of 7/4 (1.57) at BetVictor

Saido Berahino Next Club Odds

Chelsea Transfer Rumour

Another story that seems to be dragging on in the January transfer window is Saido Berahino’s likely departure from West Brom.

Newcastle United were strongly favoured to sign him a week ago, however it now appears that if there’s choice on the table, he will move to West London with struggling Chelsea. There’s been a huge shift in odds since the rumoured interest started over a week ago, with odds of 33/1 (34.0) previously available on a move to Chelsea, this has now been completely slashed to 7/4 (2.75). So there’s still value there, but if the Blue’s don’t come up with a hard offer, Newcastle are apparently next in-line with odds of 2/1 (3.00) available at Sky Bet. We’ll keep an eye on the odds movement over the next days and keep you informed.

Berahino to Chelsea with odds of 7/4 (2.75) at Sky Bet

Rob Green Next Club Odds

Crystal Palace transfer news

Interesting transfer story going on in London today as QPR and Crystal Palace are looking set to do a goalkeeper swap of sorts.

QPR keeper and former England international had been surprisingly tipped to move to Liverpool and the odds reflected such a move, however they’ve now slipped back in the running to third favourites for his signature at 8/1 (9.00) at Sky Bet. This has left the door open for Alan Pardew’s Palace to possibly do a swap deal involving Alex McCarthy, who sensationally left QPR last summer. (Source - Get West London) - 20th January 2016

Tuesday's Transfer News and Gossip

Jackson Martinez Next Club Odds

Tottenham transfer news

According to reports today, Atletico Madrid's striker Jackson Martinez has been targeted by Tottenham, and apparently a firm bid has been rejected by the Spanish club.

The Colombian striker who only joined the Spanish club from Porto last summer has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the team, with just 8 La Liga starts and 2 goals in the league so-far. The 29 year-old will see a move away as beneficial if it means regular football, but interestingly Chelsea are favourites to sign the player with Betfair, with odds of 6/1 (7.00) on-offer, with Arsenal apparently also in the mix at 12/1 (13.00)(Source - Marca) - 19th January 2016

Jackson Martinez to Chelsea 6/1 (7.00) with Betfair

Zach Clough Next Club Odds

Bolton transfer news

Debt-ridden club Bolton Wanderers will have to face-up to selling off their latest asset before the transfer window closes, their 20 year-old striker Zach Clough. A move to Bristol City fell through last week after the player turned down the move, and now the player has even more choice, with Premier League side Everton and Championship side Wolves the front-runners for the youngster signature.

Clough has scored 8 goals in 21 league appearances for Bolton and with cut price deals going at the club there might just be value in him going to Wolves for 5/1 (6.00) with Sky Bet. Considering the recent departure of Afobe to Bournemouth, his chances of first team football would certainly appear to be more realistic than at Everton who are favourites and priced at 2/1 (3.00), also at Sky Bet.

Zach Clough to Wolves 5/1 (6.00) with Sky Bet

David de Gea Next Club Odds

Manchester United transfer news

After what seemed the longest running transfer saga, the odds-on Manchester United's David de Gea finally making a move to Real Madrid are once again shortening. With the recent appointment of Zinedine Zidane and the transfer ban hanging over Madrid from this summer onwards, Real may feel like now is the time to move, or risk missing out on their long-time target (until 2017 at least).

BetVictor Sports are currently offering odds-on David de Gea to move to Madrid in the next 2 weeks at 4/6 (2.50). There was always the liklihood that this deal would be revisited in 2016, despite a new contract being signed by the goalkeeper after the deal collapsed back in September. Reports are then said to be linking United with Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel to replace David de Gea. Following in his father's footsteps at United would be a fantastic story if it materialises, but the liklihood of Leicester wanting to sell one of their star assets in January looks unlikely. One to watch heading into the last week or so of the transfer window! (Source - The Sun) - 19th January 2016

David de Gea to Real Madrid 4/6 (2.50) with BetVictor

Sam Byram Next Club Odds

West Ham transfer news

After mounting speculation that Leeds United's 22 year-old English prospect Sam Byram was on his way to Roberto Martinez's Everton, it has now been revealed that after considering his options, he will move to West Ham United.

Reports suggest that the lure of more first team football at the Hammers was the turning point, with Seamus Coleman very much first choice at Everton, Byram's playing time would most likely have been limited initially. The market on offering odds for this move has now closed, meaning that the transfer is likely to go through over the next couple of days. (Source - Sportinglife) - 19th January 2016

Wilfried Bony Next Club Odds

Manchester City transfer news

A couple of weeks ago was when this rumour started doing the rounds and the then caretaker manager of Swansea Alan Curtis stated it would be unlikely. However, the odds are certainly dropping on former player Wilfried Bony leaving Manchester City for Swansea City in January.

Sky Bet are currently offering 4/1 (5.00) on the player to head back to South Wales. It would seem more likely that the player would leave on-loan, or Manchester City would certainly have to take a major loss in their £25million+ investment. This would certainly be on the more unlikely deals to go through, however at the start of January the odds were 18/1 (19.00) on the player heading to the Swans, in a space of a couple of week those odds have fallen dramatically. Make of that what you will.

Bony back to Swansea 4/1 (5.00) with Sky Bet

Graziano Pelle Next Club Odds

Chelsea Transfer Rumour

Here's an interesting one today, Southampton's Italian forward Graziano Pelle is apparently free to leave the South Coast club in the January transfer window.

Sky Bet are already offering pretty short odds on Pelle making a surprise move to Chelsea this month, with odds of just 7/2 (4.50), this move is in the wake of an injury to forward Diego Costa and an obvious lack of firepower up-front. Loic Remy who is also on Chelsea's books has scored just 1 Premier League goal this season and has been consistently linked with a move away in this transfer window too. (Source - Metro) - 18th January 2016

Alexandre Lacazette Next Club Odds

Newcastle transfer news

Speculation regarding Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette won't go away, with Sky Bet today making the French player 5/1 (6.00) on to move to Newcastle United. Reports in the last 24 hours are suggesting that Newcastle are/or have already made a £25million offer for the forward, and it's believed that Lyon will accept the offer. The ball will then be in the player's court, does he want to challenge for Champions League football in France or head in to a relegation battle with the North East club?

Lacazette played for Lyon at the weekend, but couldn't prevent his side losing to St Ettiene by one goal to nil, as a result Lyon sit 9th in Ligue 1. If the reports are true and the club do accept a bid from Newcastle, odds of 5/1 (6.00) definitely represent value to punters.

Lacazette to Newcastle 5/1 (6.00) with Sky Bet

Jamie Vardy Next Club Odds

Liverpool Transfer News

According to fresh reports over the weekend, Jurgen Klopp is looking towards Premier League joint-scorer Jamie Vardy to lead the forward-line at Anfield. A move in the January transfer window looks unlikely however, as Vardy is likely to want to help Leicester City push on for the title and Champions League football.

Klopp is expected to build the squad in his own image this summer and a player like Vardy might be tempted to be part of that. Those reports suggest that Jamie Vardy to Liverpool could be a deal in the region of £25 million.(Source - Telegraph) - 18th January 2016

Swans Appoint Francesco Guidolin as Head Coach

Swansea transfer news

Plenty of transfer news and rumours over the weekend to catch-up on, but this move by Swansea City yesterday evening came out of nowhere. Today will be the official announcement of new head coach Francesco Guidolin, a 60 year-old Italian who's previous managerial experience has come at Monaco, Genoa, Parma and most recently guiding Udinese to Europe on more than one occassion.

It's reported that Guidolin will be at the Liberty Stadium for tonight's Premier League fixture against Watford and from thereafter will work alongside Alan Curtis in guiding the Swans to safety in the club's remaining fixtures.

Swansea transfer news

It's reported today that Swansea City striker Eder is on Wolverhampton Wanderers' rader. The former Swans boss Kenny Jackett is apparently keen on the Portuguese striker, and is looking for a replacement for the recently sold Benik Afobe.

Eder has appeared for the Swans 14 times and has failed to score in English football to-date, albeit just 2 of those appearances were starts, the rest from the substitute bench. (Source - South Wales Evening Post) - 15th January 2016

Done Deal at Manchester City

Manchester City transfer news

Not quite a deal to break any major headlines, but nevertheless, Manchester City are to complete the signing of Australian midfielder Anthony Caceres. He joins City from A-League club Central Coast Mariners, and the 23-year old arrives with a growing reputation in Australia.

However, don't expect to see him pulling on a Manchester City jersey anytime soon, as reports suggest he will likely leave as quickly as he came, on-loan. The likely destination is right back to Australia with City's sister club Melbourne City.

Doumbia's Move to Swans Gains Momentum

Swansea transfer news

Various reports overnight have suggested that Swansea City are willing to meet the valuation of Roma's Ivory Coast striker Seydou Doumbia. Alan Curtis' side are desperate for goals, and with Gomis their only realistic striker option at the club, it now appears that they may have found the man to help fire them to Premier League safety.

The striker certainly has the potential to be a lethal marksman for the Swans, netting a total of 95 times in 149 appearances for CSKA Moscow (where he has recently returned from on-loan). His move to Roma never really worked out and it's believed the South Wales club will have to stump up all of the money they got for Jonjo Shelvey's move to Newcastle. (Source - Wales Online) - 15th January 2016

Sam Byram Next Club Odds - Done Deal?

Everton transfer news

After mounting speculation that Leeds United's 22 year-old English prospect Sam Byram was on his way to the Premier Leauge, it appears that today the deal will now happen and a move to Everton has reportedly been accepted. Various reports claim the deal will be worth the Elland Road club in the region of 4-5 millions pounds. Sky Bet (for now) are still offering odds of 1/5 (1.20) on him to sign with the Toffee's, however this market will most likely close very shortly.

Byram has made 22 appearances for Leeds this season and now seemingly see's himself as part of Roberto Martinez's setup, with an emphasis on young English talent encouraged. The likes of Ross Barkley and Brendan Galloway can testify to that. One club apparently in the mix for the transfer was West Ham, who you can still get odds on at 7/2 (4.50).

Manchester City transfer news

It's reported today that Manchester City are preparing to launch an unexpected big money bid in the region of £19 million for Dortmund's Julian Weigl.

Weigl only signed for Dortmund in 2015 from 1860 Munich in Germany's lower division, but such has been his impact, it's led to Manuel Pellegrini potentially moving for the young German midfielder. Florion Thauvin On The Move?

Newcastle transfer news

Just 5 months after signing from French Ligue 1 side Marseille, Florion Thauvin appears to be on his way out of Newcastle. Signed for around £13 million back in August, the player hasn't had the exact impact the fans and club might have hoped for. With new recruits this week. moving on Thauvin would free up space and finances for more potential recruits in January. (Source - Chronicle) - 14th January 2016

With Newcaslte still very keen on completing a deal for Andros Townsend, this move might just help to speed up the transfer process, and this is now much more likely as the odds have been shortening over the last couple of days.

Breaking News - Real and Atletico Madrid Transfer Ban

It's been reported that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been handed transfer bans for the upcoming summer and following January transfer windows.

This is a similar offence to that committed by Barcelona last year. The ban announced this aftenoon will prevent both clubs from signing new players through until 2017. Both Madrid clubs will still be able to register new players up until the end of this January transfer window though. (Source - Daily Mirror) - 14th January 2016

Nemanja Vidic Next Club Odds

Manchester United transfer news

Fans on social media have been clamouring for the former Manchester United player to sign for their club, after terminating his Inter Milan contract earlier this week. However, Vidic is without a single minute of playing time this season and may not be quite the quick fix to leaky defenses across Europe at this moment in time.

However, Sky Bet are currently making Nemanja Vidic 4/6 (1.67) to sign for any MLS club in this transfer window, while somewhat surprisingly are the relatively short odds of 3/1 (4.00) on the Serbian returning to this former club, Manchester United. Will Van Gaal want the player that former manager David Moyes let go?

Bolton Report Wednesday Over Transfer

Bolton transfer news

In the Sky Bet Championship, lowly-Bolton are having to face selling off their prized playing assets due to financial problems and massive debt, and there's been no shortage of takers amongst rival clubs looking to get a leg up for the second half of the season. One club thought close to sealing a transfer from Bolton was Sheffield Wednesday, who were set to give Mark Davies a medical today. However, new developments this morning have confirmed that Bolton have reported Sheffield Wednesday over their transfer conduct.

Not much more has been revealed about the alleged problems, but it's believed that both Sky Bet Championship clubs are negotiating and the move may yet still go through this week. We'll keep an eye on developments throughout the day.

Nicklas Bendtner Next Club Odds

Newcastle transfer news

After reporting yesterday that former Premier League player and Danish international Nicklas Bendtner may be on his way out of Wolfsburg to Newcastle, a spanner has been thrown in the works today. Wolfsburg's striker Bas Dost has fallen to inury and will be out for 6 weeks.

The Bundesliga club may now be reluctant to move on Bendtner, at least until a replacement is found. With the news still fresh the bookmakers haven't reacted too much with the odds, and as things stand, Bendtner is still favourite to move to Newcastle this month. This is a market worth keeping an eye on, with current odds of 2/7 (1.29) at Sky Bet on the Dane staying in Germany.

Sam Byram Next Club Odds

Everton transfer news

The speculation won't go away for Leeds United's 22 year-old English prospect Sam Byram, with Everton's interest in the player believed to be genuine and the bookmakers also very much agree. Sky Bet currently make him 8/11 (1.73) on to sign with the Toffee's before the window closes in January.

Byram has made 22 appearances for Leeds this season and might just fancy a move to Roberto Martinez's team, with an emphasis on young English talent encouraged. The likes of Ross Barkley and Brendan Galloway can testify to that. Other clubs apparently in the mix are West Ham at 8/1 (9.00), Liverpool 14/1 (15.00) and Norwich 16/1 (17.00).

Sam Byram to Everton 8/11 (1.73) with Sky Bet

Saido Berahino Next Club Odds

Tottenham transfer news

Tottenham are still interested in signing West Brom's Saido Berahino in the January transfer window according to reports, however Spurs' challenge for Champions League and possibly the title could be hampered by the news today that London rivals Chelsea may also be interested in moving for the 22 year-old. With likely departures of Remy and Falcao in January, Hiddink may need more fire-power to help Diego Costa for the remainder of the season and a proven Premier League scorer such as Berahino might just fit the bill.

Bookmakers still give Spurs a big chance of signing their man with odds of 9/4 (3.25) on-offer from Sky Bet, however if the rumours of Chelsea's interest are true the bumper price of 33/1 (34.00) may just be worth some actual value. (Source - Express) - 13th January 2016

Aaron Cresswell Transfer News

Liverpool Transfer News

After Liverpool's somewhat surprising move for QPR's Steven Caulker yesterday, Liverpool are today being linked with West Ham United's Aaron Cresswell. According to reports, Jurgen Klopp might be interested in making a move for the defender in January, but it's more likely that if a deal gets done, it will be in the summer.

The same report also suggests that Manchester City may enter the bidding for the 26 year old defender, but with a likely change of manager in the summer (as discussed in our What Are The Odds? magazine), this is purely just speculation. (Source - Evening Standard) - 13th January 2016

According to reports today, England international and Tottenham winger Andros Townsend has decided he would like a move North to Newcastle, a club that is so far one of the busiest in the January transfer window.

Bookmakers have shortened the odds on this deal going through, however Watford remain the favourites for his signature with odds of 6/4 (2.50) at Sky Bet. Newcastle who are now seemingly his club of choice have seen their odds change slightly to 2/1 (3.00), so there's still a bit of value to be had on what almost certainly look to be a player on the move in this window.

Newcastle will today also announce the signing of Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey for around £12 million, as we revealed in yesterday's transfer news roundup.

Thomas Muller Next Club Odds - Premier League or Spain?

Bayern Munich transfer news

With the summer departure of Bayern manager Pep Guardiola announced, needless to say there is speculation surrounding all of the Bundesliga club's best players and today German World Cup winner Thomas Muller has revealed that he doesn't intend on leaving the club with the manager.

It's worth watching the bookmaker odds on this one, as 10Bet bookmaker currently make Thomas Muller 9/1 (10.00) to leave Munich for Manchester United in the summer transfer window. However, there might also be value in watch clubs like Chelsea who are also in the mix at 12/1 (13.00) and Real Madrid at 14/1 (15.00). With new managers likely at both Premier League clubs this summer, it could be a move that represents good value with these current odds.

Loan Deal - Caulker to Leave QPR for Liverpool

Liverpool Transfer News

Breaking news on Tuesday morning is that Liverpool are close to sealing a loan deal until the end of the season for QPR defender Steven Caulker. Currently out on loan at Southampton, Liverpool will be hoping to get a deal through to bring him to Anfield to add much-needed cover to an injury-ridden defence.

Nicklas Bendtner Next Club Odds - Newcastle Option

Newcastle transfer news

Reports today along with shortening odds are suggesting that Danish international and Wolfsburg striker, Nicklas Bendtner is on the verge of a surprise return to the English Premier League. With Newcastle now firm favourites to sign the player at 11/4 (3.25) with Sky Bet.

Wolfsburg have informed Bendtner that he can use the January transfer window as an opportunity to find a new club, after dropping down the pecking order at the Bundesliga club. Despite doubts about his ability at Premier League level, Newcastle are very keen on the 27 year-old to add fire power to their faltering attacking line. (Source - Metro) - 12th January 2016

Manchester Utd in Talks with Saul Niguez

Manchester United transfer news

The production line of players at Atletico Madrid continues as 21 year-old Spanish defensive midfielder, Saul Niguez is reported to be in talks with Manchester United. The player who has been gaining admirers across Europe, apparently also has gained the attention of table-topping Arsenal. According to the Daily Mail today, the player has a release claus in his contract and this has opened the door to a potential move in the January transfer window.

Although this is a fast moving story gaining traction amongst the media, it is believed according to reports, that the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone isn't keen on letting any of his own table-topping team depart at this crucial stage. Atletico currently sit above Barcelona and Real Madrid, but have played a game more than their Catalonian rivals. (Source - Daily Mail) - 12th January 2016

Stoke transfer news

Reports are circulating that Peter Crouch is unhappy with the amount of playing time at Stoke City and as a result the bookmakers have jumped on where his next club may be. Today that speculation has increased and it now looks likely that the former England international will be on the move, with West Brom at 6/5, Bristol City at 5/2 and Leeds at 12/1, are the frontrunners for his signature should he look to play away from the Britannia Stadium.

Jonjo Shelvey Next Club Odds - Newcastle Close to Transfer

Newcastle transfer news

A busy day at St James's Park we're being led to believe! Once a regular and favourite at the Liberty Stadium with Swansea City, Jonjo Shelvey now appears to be out of the door after falling out of favour and potentially upsetting some people on the way, including former manager Gary Monk. According to reports today, Newcastle United are the team of choice, and they have apparently tabled a £10m bid for the England international.

Interestingly Jonjo Shelvey started and played in Swansea's FA Cup exit to Oxford yesterday, and it was recently reported that now manager, Alan Curtis said that Shelvey would play a big part in the Swans battle to stay in the Premier League for the remaineder of the season. However, Coral Sports have got Shelvey 1/6 on to move North in the January transfer window. (Source - Daily Mail) - 11th January 2016

David De Gea Next Club Odds - Real Madrid To Finally Complete Deal

Manchester United transfer news

After what seemed the longest running transfer saga of last summer, the rumour mill is once again bubbling with odds-on Manchester United's David De Gea finally making a move to Real Madrid. With the recent appointment of Zinedine Zidane and the on-going struggles at Old Trafford with Van Gaal, it seems that this summer the goalkeeper will finally make the move happen and most likely not at the very last minute this time.

Sky Bet are currently offering odds-on David De Gea to move to Madrid 4/5 (1.80) over staying at United with odds of 10/11 (1.91). There was always the liklihood that this deal would be revisited in 2016, despite a new contract being signed by the goalkeeper after the deal collapsed back in September.

Saido Berahino Next Club Odds - Newcastle Favourites for Striker

Newcastle transfer news

Wantaway West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino now looks set to move to St James's Park in the January transfer window after bookmakers slashed their odds on Steve McClaren's side signing the 22 year-old. It's reported that Newcastle had tabled a club-record fee in the region of £18 for the striker and the bid is believed to be enough to clinch the signature, after their apparently failed attempts to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

When you're in a relegation fight and losing matches to nil then a goalscorer is exactly what the Toon Army will be clamouring for, and with Sky Bet now making Said Berahino next club odds at 2/5 (1.4) to move to Newcastle, it may be a deal close to completion. (Source - Daily Mail) - 11th January 2016

Andros Townsend Next Club Odds - Newcastle Cool Interest

Newcastle transfer news

Steve McClaren had apparently targeted the Tottenham and England international as a key player to sign in the January transfer window to aid the club's relegation fight, however reports today suggest that their interest has cooled after Tottenham apparently wanted over £10 million for his services. The sizeable fee and risk of relegation on a player with just 6 appearances in all competitions for club and country has apparently seen this move fall through for now - Sky Bet still make him second favourite to sign for the Magpies though, with Watford now moving in to pole position. (Source - Chronicle) - 7th January 2016

David Marshall Next Club - Everton Must Bid £10m

Everton transfer news

Cardiff City's Scottish international goalkeeper David Marshall is once again gaining the interest of a Premier League club, this time it's Everton, after West Brom failed in their attempts last year. The Welsh club playing in the Championship may just find a £10 million offer too good to refuse this time, as Roberto Martinez will be seeking a sure contender to replace his American goalkeeper Tim Howard in the long-term.

Alexandro Pato Next Club Odds - Far East, Liverpool or London?

Chelsea Transfer Rumour

Some reports in the last 24 hours are suggesting that Brazilian striker Alexandro Pato is set to make a shock move to the Far East with a Chinese second division club. News of this will come as a blow to the two long-term favourites Chelsea and Liverpool, both of whom have seemingly seen Pato as an ideal for the second half of the season.

With big money on-offer and the lure of former Brazil head coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo at the helm, the English Premier League looks set to miss out on a potential star player. However, some bookmakers are offering value on Pato still heading to Stamford Bridge with Betfair offering 9/2 and 5/1 on Jurgen Klopp getting in some much needed fire-power. (Source - The Sun) - 7th January 2016

Isco Next Club Odds - Man City Deal Hits Rocks?

Manchester City transfer news

Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester City must have believed it was a matter of time before a transfer deal for Real Madrid's Isco could be done, however with the appointment of Zinedine Zidane on Monday as the new Real boss there's speculation that Isco will try and force his way back in to the teams plans. The odds on him moving to City have grown over night, with around 5/2 being offered yesterday and today that's up to around 10/3. (Source - The Sun) - 7th January 2016

Aubameyang Next Club Odds - Arsenal & United Odds Shorten

Arsenal transfer newsDortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has today missed training with the Bundesliga club according to reports. As a result of mounting speculation, this has put Arsenal and Manchester United on alert for the striker's services in the January transfer window.

Aubameyang is the current top scorer in the Bundesliga with 18 goals and would certainly be just the ticket for goal shy Manchester United (7/1 at Sky Bet), while Arsenal could certainly accomodate such a player with Oliver Giroud. Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp is also interested in his former club's star asset but the odds on Liverpool are far behind that of Arsenal and Utd, with 14/1 on-offer at Sky Bet.

Messi Next Club Odds and Reunion with Guardiola at City?

Manchester City transfer news

As we covered in our magazine What's Are The Odds? yesterday, Pep Guardiola has confirmed he's moving to the English Premier League in the summer and all of the betting odds point to him joining Manchester City - with that will likely come a transfer fund unrivalled by many leading clubs.

Reports today suggest that one of those big money signings at City, if Guardiola is present, will be noneother than Lionel Messi. Interestingly the bookmakers also agree with the potential football shattering transfer rumour, with Sky Bet giving Manchester City a 6/1 chance to land the Barcelona man. With Arsenal and Chelsea further back both on 16/1, this also suggests that City is where the bookmakers also figure Guardiola is heading. (Source - The Express) - 6th January 2016

Newcastle United Launch £19m Bid for Lacazette

Newcastle transfer news

Steve Mclaren and Newcastle have apparently made a huge £19 million bid for Lyon and French striker Alexandre Lacazette. According the reports however, it may take some considerable persuasion to convince the 24-year old to make the move North to St James' Park as they right in the thick of a relegation battle, currently 2 points adrift of in the bottom three. Newcastle fans might also be interested to know that the 10 capped player has only scored 6 goals in Ligue 1 this season. With a delegation of Newcastle representatives apparently agreeing to the high price tag it would take to bring him to Tyneside, there seems to be some considerable distance between the deal being done.

Adebayor Considering Contract Offers From Palace and Watford

Crystal Palace transfer news

Emmanuel Adebayor is set for a return to the Premier League after being released by Tottenham earlier in the season. Reports has revealed this morning that the Togo international striker who has scored just shy of 100 Premier League goals is now considering contract offers from Alan Pardew’s high-flying Crystal Palace and Watford. Sky Bet are today offering close prices on both clubs with Watford just edging it at 2/1. It’s also suggested that there is more money on the table from the Hornets, but will Adebayor favour the move to Palace based on the fact of more regular game time, this is baring in mind that Watford have two of the most lethal strikers in the division in Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo. (Source - The Guardian) - 6th January 2016

Bale and Hazard in Swap Deal Transfer of The Century

Chelsea Transfer Rumour

The transfer rumour mill is now officially in full-spin and is throwing up a few golden nuggets for us this Wednesday morning. Various sources are reporting that Chelsea and Real Madrid are in cahoots in a deal to bring Eden Hazard to the Bernabeu and Gareth Bale to Stamford Bridge. Although a deal for Hazard to Madrid looks more likely in the summer than January (he is 12/1 on to move to Madrid in January at Sky Bet, but 7/1 on to move in the summer at 10Bet), the speculation continues to grow, this has increased after Gareth Bale apparently admitted he was unhappy at the sacking of former boss Rafa Benitez on Monday. Odds on Bale's move to Stamford Bridge have now moved level with bookmakers to that of a potential move to Manchester United or Manchester City. (Source - Daily Mirror) - 6th January 2016

Watford Close To Transfer of Spanish International Suarez

Watford Transfer News

Mounting reports suggest that Watford are close to signing Mario Suarez from Fiorentina. The Spanish international moved to Italy from Atletico Madrid last summer, but has found playing time limited under the current manager Paulo Sousa. Quique Sánchez Flores will be using the January transfer window in a bid to bolster his side's push in the top half of the Premier League table, especially after a few tight defeats has condemned the Hornets to back-to-back 2-1 losses.

The 28 year-old defensive midfielder would add much needed experience and quality in the second half of the season, and it looks as if they move could be good all round with Suarez keen to make an impact after only 12 appearances for Fiorentina in both Serie A and the Europa League. Speculation regarding Meyer has heated up in recent days with Liverpool potentially facing competition for his signature from Barcelona and AC Milan. (Source - Daily Mirror) - 5th January 2016

Klopp’s interest might have further peaked in the young Venezuelan striker after he scored in Granada’s 2-1 over Sevilla.

The striker was unbelievably shot in the thigh by a gunman during a party in his home country. After being hospitalised and recovering the striker is now hot property and there’s also interest from Tottenham and Inter Milan for the striker, who also topped Lionel Messi's record as the youngest ever La Liga player. Chelsea Transfer Rumour

After unsuccessful bids from Chelsea during last summer’s transfer window, Everton and England defender John Stones is once again the hottest defender in European football. After another stellar display yesterday against Tottenham in the Premier League the prices have shortened slightly on John Stones betting odds with him now best priced at 10/1 (11.0) at Sky Bet to head to Chelsea.

This has been further reinforced today as Daily Express have reported today that Chelsea will make a move in January for Stones. Manchester United are expected to enter into the bidding this month too with 15/1 (16.0) odds currently available - 4th January 2016

With Aston Villa floundering at the bottom of the English Premier League, 11 points adrift of safety, manager Remi Garde has admitted he wants to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy to help the Villans fire their way to much needed points. However, Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has rebuffed speculation by stating he wants to keep his strikers through the January transfer window. The need for a striker is even more apparent for Villa as they have the unwelcome title of being the lowest scorers in the Premier League with just 15 goals in 19 games. (Sources - Various) - 30th December 2015
