Who Scores The Greatest Majority Of Their Club's Goals?

Which players score the greatest majority of their team's goals? Today on the blog, James Amey looks at the most influential players in terms of goal scoring for clubs in the top 5 leagues of Europe.

Falcao

Today we take a look at which players have scored the highest percentage of their team’s goals at home, away and in total in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.

At Home

Vedad Ibisevic has scored 8 goals at home for Stuttgart this season, which is 73% of their overall home goals scored. This is the highest percentage in Europe’s top 5 leagues by some way as Falcao and Basat are second in the list and they have both scored 46% of their teams home goals this season, 27% less than Ibisevic.

Edinson Cavani and Antonio Di Natale have both scored 44% of their teams goals this season, while Benjamin Nivet has scored 6 home goals for Troyes this season, which is 43% of their overall goals scored at home.

Michu has scored 42% of Swansea’s home goals this season, while Luis Suarez, Wissam Ben Yedder and Anthony Modeste have all scored 7 home goals and have all scored 41% of their team’s home goals this season.

Aritz Aduriz has scored 73% of Athletic Bilbao’s away goals this season, which is the highest percentage in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 12 away goals for PSG this season, which is 67% of their overall away games, while Hernanes and Cvitanich have both scored 63% of their team’s away goals this season.

Tomer Hemed and Iago Aspas has both scored 57% of their team’s away goals this season, while Sau has scored 56% of Cagliari’s away goals in Serie A this season. Lionel Messi and Steven Fletcher have both scored 50% of their team’s goals this season; however Messi has scored 11 more away goals than Fletcher.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Aritz Aduriz have both scored 50% of their team’s overall goals this season, which is 2% more than Ibisevic who has scored 48% of Stuttgart’s goals this season. Falcao has scored 17 goals for Athletico Madrid this season, which is 45% of their total goals, while Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have both scored 44% of Barcelona’s and Liverpool’s overall goals this season. Edinson Cavani has scored 16 goals for Napoli, which is 43% of their overall goals.

Demba Ba has scored 48% of Newcastle’s overall goals this season, 54% of their home goals and 43% of their away goals but he was not included in this comparison has he has recently joined Chelsea.

With these statistics it is possible to make a more informed decision when betting on the anytime goalscorer market and backing Ibisevic when Stuggart are at home and Aduriz when Athletic Bilbao are away may be smart moves to make.
